The new fuel filter and head assembly arrived today and I would like to know if the wires on the new connectors can be connected to the existing wires even tough the colors of the new wires are different?

Mine was red to red and black to black - although someone else asked this in the Tech section
and some of the replies were talking about greens and purples - I guess Chrysler ran out of red and black.

but it's 12 volts - one's hot, one's ground - I'd use the thickest wire and try to match the old - although I'm not sure there's a difference - it's a resistor - unless there's a diode somewhere - the electrons are pretty happy going either way - and a multimeter would confirm that pretty quickly.

Mine were green and purple. Match them up by wire gauge, which I believe is green to red and purple to black.

I'm up in the mountains of AZ for the next couple of days :CAMPING: and I can confirm that it works when wired that way.

Before you make the final connections, start up the jeep and let it run, if it starts to make funny noises watch the fuel head plunger. if it goes soft and or moves inward quickly shut off the engine and reverse the wires. the fuel pumps will runs backwards. if you have to ask... :2cents:
