Received one BEHR thermostat yesterday. I guess the "national backorder" and delivery of 2/28 was a false alarm.

There's no estimated delivery date for my order of 1/7.

Email today from Mopartsamerica that the thermostat has shipped. Since they are about 20 miles away, it should be here tomorrow.

Wobbly....why are you replacing your thermostat? Signs? Symptoms? I questioning changing mine, out seems like the jeep just isn't heating up like it used to even with the radiator blocked and my gas mileage has taken a larger drop than normal with the winter blend fuels. My coolant temp comes up to halfway between the 2nd and 1st line b/4 halfway. It used to come up to the first line b/4 half. I don't know if this small difference can make the difference in my fuel mileage and not getting a lot of heat in the cab or not. Maybe you guys can post a few pictures of install? Thanks

I just wanted a spare since its availability seems to be somewhat sporadic. The one installed seems to be OK.
FEDEX delivered the replacement today-to someone else's front door. They are looking for it.

Wobbly.

With that thinking you'll end up with a "spare" complete CRD

Our fedX guy is really good. He even leaves dog biscuits for the daughter's 2 dogs the wife cares for :jester: lol

Well, we justified the Liberty purchase as a tow vehicle for our travel trailer. It wouldn't be fun to get caught out on a trip waiting a month for a new thermostat to get off "national back order". Of course, the chance that a breakdown could be solved by the spare part we happened to be carrying with us is pretty low. In fact, carrying a spare thermostat is almost a guarantee that you will never need one- the umbrella theory.

I do feel good knowing that whoever received the thermostat from FEDEX will never be stuck for a month waiting for one from Italy, or at least will have a unique paper weight/ door stop.

Our first 4x4 was a 1966 Land Rover and the compartment under the driver's seat was full of small parts like fuel pump rebuilding kits, carb kits, distributor points, rotor, fan belt and condensor and so for. Most were still there when I sold it wen the frame started rusting out :juggle: I bought ours for the same purpose and I really tempt fate by not carrying any tools

An updated model of the one driven by Lt.Col. J. Algernon Hawthorne, no doubt.

The young FEDEX driver and his mentor tooled around the neighborhood this morning trying to remember where he delivered the package yesterday. The driver remembered being on my street, but that's all. After 20 minutes of circling the environs, they gave up and left the scene.

The worst part is that one of your neighbors has a box with address on it, and they are holding onto it, and probably will never give it to you.

I loathe FEDEX for this very reason... Not only am I the 6pm delivery, both in AZ and FL, but they almost routinely deliver my $$$ packages to my neighbors. I've never had this problem with any other delivery service.

Same. I've had the same experiences with fedex.

And its like, what are my nieghbors doing with my stuff? They can't possibly have use for a $400 canvas for a VW pop-top. Nor could they even know what it is or where to sell it.

Just recently I had a $500 order of tires show delivery at 9am, I put out a trace and then sometime around 2pm they magically appeared out front. No knock or anything.

Could it be the neighbor on the other side of the fence? The fence where I innocently planted a few bamboo 10 years ago? The neighbor who now has a bamboo plantation in his back yard?

The missing package was delivered by a neighbor who lives about 150 feet from us. He drove that distance today and handed it to me. It was uphill and the package did weigh 2 pounds. After fleeting thoughts of scamming FEDEX, I let them know that the errant parcel was in my possession.

I just changed my tstat 3 days ago.

Moparpartsamerica took about a 2 months to get the part along with a fuel filter and a gasket, and some sunroof parts.

There is alot of stuff going on in that area, a lot of hoses to leak, a lot of potential badness. The gasket was difficult to scrape off of the block due to the small area around it, otherwise it's just hose removal.

My temp new used to sit at 12 o'clock no matter what, it had been sticking in the 30 to 40% range, now it's always at 50% again. I had replaced my fan clutch and flushed the coolant, cleaned the radiator fins of dirt etc, last summer i pegged the coolant gauge one tick below H and figured i'd replace all the major parts, before i went in to the dealer for the recalibration, as i am afraid of them. I still have not done it, hoping it is a fixed problem.

I boil tested both the new and old tstat and the old one was leaking/opening at 155f or so, the new one at around 172-175 Old was closing at around 140 new was closing at around 160-165. Without any pressure or flow aganst it there's no telling the open and close temps but i figure these are close to actual. The thermostats have a casting mark of Behr, made in Italy, possably we can get them from elsewhere.

Good hotel room project for a little Reverse Engineering. I would try to figure out a way to convert to replaceable and post a drawing.
