Guys (and gals)

Over the last year or so my key less entry has gotten worse and worse, i've replaced the batteries, cleaned the contacts etc etc, i know it's not the fobs (i have 2, both factory). Most of the time they work fine inside the car (drivers seat) but only rarely do they work outside of the car.

I have found that if i activate the fobs in a particular place (near the b pillar by the drivers window), they usually work, but not always.

Is there an antenna or something that is part of the vehicle system that i have broken or that i can check?

I've added a good amount of wiring to he crd dash and it's possible i've damaged something.

I used to be able to unlock at a pretty good range, this is very annoying to constantly have to set off my alarm.

There is a receiver unit in the vehicle somewhere. I saw the part when I was browsing the moparparts site the other day. Saw the transmitters and the receiver for sale. Maybe someone else can chime into exactly where it is installed.
