My 2006 crd 52,000 miles, when I try to accelerate fast I lose fuel pressure and it stops running
and I have to jump out and bleed out the air but when I rev it in netural it does not do that only under a load.
Also tonight a seperate problem it acted like limp mode, low accerlation, andin netural it only reves to 3,000 .
I do have a new filter head that I replaced at 45,000 because of the dreaded leak it gets .
Not sure where and why I an getting a leak only under accerlation. Any Ideas??

fuel filter

I agree, the fuel filter would be the first thing to change, it's plugging. Diesel only has a shelf life of about month according to my Cat mechanic, where your filling do they have a large turn over, or a station in town?
Change the filter and put some Power Service in with the next tank. :CAMPING:

X3 This happen to me twice because I travel a lot (85,000), both times fuel filter fixed it. I carry a spare but you can get one at NAPA. Hmmmm come to think about it, the last time it also idle like crap and started spitting codes like the devil.

I had the exact same symptoms just last week, sounds like you need a new fuel filter. Has it ever been changed? If not then at 52k its way overdue.

Its pretty easy to change out, you an do it in less than 20 mins.

Thanks I will try a fuel filter first. The filter is new when the new filter head was installed at 45,000
and now has 52,000 so it really does not have that many miles but I guess it could take one bad tank.
The place I get fuel sells a good amount of diesel. Thanks for the input!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And if a new filter does not do it read up on ift pumps :SOMBRERO:
Also make sure the hose clamps on the filter head are secure.
