My cel turns off with one key cycle after I plug the MAF sensor back in...?

On a side note, my jeep went into limp mode the other day and i plugged the MAF back in and the CEL stayed on. I killed it and started it back up and it ran right again but the CEL has not gone out since. Again yesturday it went into limp mode and i couldn't get it over 40 mph. The idle is a little rough also. Could that be related to running the ORM? If not where can i get a decent but cheap scanner?

Got the same problem here as well!!! About every 3-4 times leaving from a dead stop it will go into limp mode. Do it once, then very next stop after it starts, resets and runs fine. Had the ORM for over a year, now the dealer says the MAF sensor is shot and needs replaced. Did leaving the MAF unplugged cause this???

Did you verify that there is no corrosion on the sensor pins and nothing in the connector that would prevent good contact. You may already do this, but if unplugging a sensor it and the connector should be taped closed to prevent contamination. What is the code that comes out?

Maybe that is what I need to do since I have left connectors unprotected (I should know better). The codes I got are shown below. linebr posted code descriptions but I'm not sure what they mean.
P0234
P0102
P0069
P1261
P1265

P0102 tells you that the MAF is not getting the 5V supply voltage, check the pins and clean as best as possible.
P1261 is a failed glow plug cylinder #1
P1265 is a failed glow plug cylinder #3

Before changing plugs you will want to verify your glow harness is not reversed, there should be a white tag on the glow harness, it should be located next to the #1 cylinder. If not, the harness is reversed and plugs #2 and #4 are bad.

What does your Edge Trailjammer do for the KJ? does it plug into some sensors and fake out signals? If so, which ones.

It plugs inline to the MAP and fuel pressure sensors. I don't think I have seen any increase in MPG but it has provided more power. It has 3 levels (really 2). Stock, level 1 which increases HP by 10 and torque by 15, and level 2 which increases HP by 23 and torque by 32. Level 1 is used for towing and is the level I leave it in which provides modest performance gains. Level 2 provides more power gains but also eats more fuel.
Guess I'll get an eraser out on those pins and try to remove any oxidation.

I verified through the ID tag on harnesses that they were numbered 1-4 counting front to back. Each harness ID tag matched the plug that it was hooked up to. I'm guessing that Cyl 1 is at front and Cyl 4 is at rear of engine.

Altering the readings of the MAP sensor could be a potential cause for the P0234 Overboost code. Have you had that code since running the trailjammer? Arbitrarily lowering the boost value from the sensor with the TJ may reduce your turbo life as it could be overspeeding in certain conditions.

Cylinder #1 is at the front of the engine to confirm your intuition.

It's hard to say since I already had the CEL from running the ORM. What I will do next is remove the Edge entirely from the system, clean pins on the MAF sensor connector, plug it back in, disconnect battery for 30 or so minutes and then wait for 3-5 engine cycles before having codes read again. As far as the glow plugs go, not sure what to do about them. Can they be easily replaced without dealer intervention?

#1 is easy to swap on your own. You don't have to remove any other components if you use an extension. #3 you have to remove the intake elbow to make some room to reach it.

What about any reprogramming after glow plug replacement? Seems like I read somewhere that something needed to be tweeked after glow plug replacement.

Nope, you're thinking of injectors.

Now I feel really stupid for the above post. I was confusing glow plugs with injectors. I thought the glow plugs were on top of engine and it looked like they would be an easy swap. That was the harness configuration I checked. after further reading post dealing with glow plugs, I realized my error. Now I need to look for glow plugs and see if harness is swapped.

Anybody can help me find the glowplugs. They must be hidden behind or under something.

These pics are from another thread. Look on the side of the head, beneath the intake and kind of behind the intake elbow with the red cap.

Thanks for the visual... wow, not that easy to get to. Good thing they're not spark plugs.
