I had a friend in Michigan trade in his 05 sport but it had a different TC than me. Mine has the 4whi part time and full time and the 4wdlo

I think his just had the 4wfull time and that was it. I never could figure out what his was all about. I was upset he got rid of it though. it was clean

You have Selec-Trac, he had Command-Trac. Two different 4x4 operating systems. Essentially your system takes his option for 4hi and divides it into 4hi full and part time, with both having the option for 2x4, neutral, and 4lo.

All CRD's had the NP242. I think you are most likely mis-remembering your friends CRD(no offense intended).

I also had another thought.......thinking about correlating a vehicles serial number with production date......would be interesting so see who has the first and last production based on serial numbers.......

I want to agree big time, but I remember he and I had the argument and he showed me the brochure for his jeep which showed two different options being offered, and then he took me into the garage to show me. It was two years so I can't remember what he had. All I know is that what ever he had, it wasn't the same as mine. This is really a dumb thing to even bring up, but whatever. I think he was missing 4low. He had 2wd and all time AWD if I remember.

There's no Jeep transfer case like that, I'm gonna have to go with mis-remembering on this one.
