Sniping works when other bidders are not setting their max bids to what they are willing to pay. Then the sniper zaps in his max bid at the last second, preventing the "slower" bidders from reacting with a higher bid.

Sniping doesn't work when one of the "slower" bidders has a higher max bid than the sniper sets as his highest bid. Does not allow time for the sniper to react in case that Star Trek USS Enterprise NCC 1701 Commemorative Plate is worth an extra $50 of your hard earned cash!

honestly, I don't know if they are or not. Line, and Geordi both have easily identifiable eBay names... but the winner eludes me.

Yea, I got distracted at work and missed the end of the auction.

At the same time... Checking that final price, it's beyond where I was gonna go, such that I might not have sniped on this one anyway. Its all good, I've got another solution potentially from a boneyard... We shall see if the homework works out. I do hope a member here got it. :mrgreen:
