I sent my wife to get the KK's oil changed and gave her the new TSB number. The service person didn't even pull up the TSB and told her "We don't do these if there isn't a problem" Do I NEED a problem to want my Jeep to shift better? I might have to pay them a visit myself.

I got the flash done today and first gear seems to shift hard but the rest are smooth and it seems to hold speed better then before.

Does anyone have a link to the official TSB # 18-023-09 from Chrysler? I would like to print it out and take it to my dealer.

Not to bring up an old thread but we have a 09 with a March build date that has a minor shutter/vibration described here. Dealer says he can set the TC to lock up at a higher speed but the gas mileage would really suffer. He didn't think he could go back once set. He just wanted to check before going ahead and making the change.

I know we are all enthusiast here and want responsiveness and power and its a no brainier, but spouse doesn't like the idea of affecting gas mileage, and the shudder/vibration does not bother her. The fact that there is no always on 12VDC outlet bothers her. She does a lot of her driving at 35-45 mpg.

So has anyone here noticed a drop in mileage after having the shift point change? I know that putting Jeep and gas mileage in the same sentence does not make much sense.

It's interesting that this thread popped up, because I am taking my Jeep in to the dealership on Tuesday for transmission issues. The most prominent problem is the shudder from 1st to 2nd, but the tranny in my Jeep just sucks. Are there any more recent TSBs that have not made it into our KK Tech Section yet, or is 18-023-09 the most recent? Thanks.

I had this done to my car 2 months ago, and after it was done the difference was night and day. The vibration at 50 or so was gone, and I could not believe how smooth the car drove on the highway. HUGE difference.

Two weeks later, it all came back.

I plan on talking to the service manager and to find out why this happened. The only correlation I can place with the vibration coming back is that the key fob wouldn't work. I had to put the key in the ignition in order to get the fob to work again. This seems to happen once every two weeks. (both fobs)

I don't think I'm having any of the issues I've seen described thus far. What I am seeing is a long shift time between 1st & 2nd. Seems like a whole second sometimes, dump truck like pause between the gears. Is this something the rest of you notice too? At first I thought it may have something to do with first being so dam tall. Wife and I haven't noticed any shuddering otherwise like driving in 4th when it should be on 3rd so seems all else is well.

If this happened at the same time, crappy shifting and key fobs not working, i might question the computer having an issue like it was erased and forgot whatever was in memory

I just bought my 08 KK used this past fall and have noticed it shortly after I bought. My wife said she didn't notice anything so I figured it was just me. After reading this post it all makes sense now. Is this covered regardless of still being in warranty or not?

TSB's are only covered under the warranty period. Other wise you are paying shop rate to have it flashed...
