I usually do 2 hours before I leave for work in the morning at anything less than 32F.

I'm in jersey so not as cold as some other states, but I plug mine in when ever I pull into the garage. I like to keep her ready as I'm always jumping in and headed somewhere. I like to keep it warm just incase. Similiar to the emergency vehicles. I figure it takes less energy yo heat the block once its already heated up.
