Shopping for a new Diff Cover

I'm interested in getting a beefier diff cover for my 04 Liberty's rear axle. Do I need one specific for the Liberty models or will any diff cover made for a Chrysler 8.25 axle do?

Yes, it fits the Chrysler 8.25 including some jeep Cherokee's, the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Durango.

i have a ruffstuff diff. cover and it is BEEFY.. but if i did it again i'd get a riddler... it wasnt out when i bought mine.

what you just take it off to drain it out, then slap the new one on and add new diff oil? easy as pie! I might do this soon

well that along with cleaning off the magnet in the bottom of the diff

cleaning off old RTV and sealing with new, or a lube locker gasket

RTV -1 for PITA factor

LubeLocker +2 for easy, clean, and (mostly) reusable.

i'd give it a +4, loved my lubelocker so far, have you had any problems with yours seeping or anything?

i used my lubelocker at least 3 times so far without it leaking, the 4th time i just used RTV, no leaks with the RTV. either way works for me! i prefer the RTV, its not too bad. the lubelockers are pricey, but really are nice, whichever you prefer!

and i love my crane diff cover, would recommend it to anyone 110%, backed into plenty of rocks and not a nick in it, other than paint scrapes :mrgreen:

Glad you brought this topic up LibertyForever. Anyone running a Riddler cover and an ARB air locker with 4.10 gears? I'd like to make sure the Riddler cover accomodates that config before I buy it.

Oh and FYI, I think I'm going with Riddler after this entertaining video. Yes, I know that tracks displace weight but it's still a good demo of the strength the cover ash.

The Crane diff cover fits the ARB and 4:10's. As far as I know, the Riddler is almost identical to the Crane. BOth covers are larger (hold more gear lube) than the stock cover and still clears the OE gas tank skid

It fits,I test fitted one of the 1st Riddlers out for sale for the 8.25 on my rear diff,I had 4.10's and a ARB in the diff at the time.

I have had two Ruffstuffs and now have a Crane, of course none have even made it close to being installed on mine, I sell them before I have a chance :cry:

But the Cranes for sale up till the time I install it!
