Well, I went through some of the search posts and apparently they were not in all KJ's. I saw one post from a fellow sport owner and he didn't have any. Maybe Limiteds got them and us cheapo sports were SOL. Looks like EVIC is the clue here.

Nope, EVICs are not the clue :jester: My low end limited does not have an Evic but does have TPM on all 5 wheels. Mine was made Jan 25, 06 And they can be had online for about $30 each.

where can you find them for $30?

x2. I need to replace one of mine due to the stupidity of a Sams Club Tire Shop.

It's interesting how many here are appearing without the TPMS, maybe it is just Ford (since they lost the lawsuit that started these things) that made them standard in 05/06...

What gets me is that if this was an option... Why only option the half-baked version with just an idiot light, instead of the full tells-you-the-tire-pressures version that uses the evic? And more... How (or what) needs to be reprogrammed to switch to the full version? Can a DRB3 do it? Which menu?

I can't say. What freaks me is it wasn't even offered as an option to a Sport. Only Rennys and Limiteds.

EVIC was in the one sport I test drove. It was a 2006

Last night I found some written tire quotes I got from goodyear and firestone. both shops had new rubber valve stems in the quote that whey would have never been able to install on my Jeep.

There are two TPMS options.....Standard and Premium. I have the standard like you....idiot light and I have an EVIC. Premium actually reads out the individual tire pressures on the EVIC.

I WAS WRONG :frankie: For my 06 they are $15.54 plus S&H

Go here and put in your model and year then search for TIRE PRESSURE and you'll see it.
http://www.moparpartsamerica.com/partlo ... eid=214583
When I ordered my replacement I was told there was one TPM sensor :SOMBRERO:
Their site has the ability for you to put in your VIN and it finds the correct parts.

NOTE: They don't list one for an 05

Second Note: looking at a 2006 Liberty brochure it lists the STANDARD (warning light) TPM as standard equiptment on the Renengades and "F" Limiteds and the "displayed in over-head console" as an option on both. But on the "G" level Limited the overhead display is standard.
This brochure is dated 10/05

It's not even listed as a option on sport models :ALONE:

Joe, have you ordered one? When it comes in, can you write down (and post) all the numbers on it? I have to replace one of mine, and it is exposed right now (bare rim) so I can match the numbers up and figure out which sensors I have already. It would be nice if they are the same, the guys at the tire shop seemed to think that all the Mopars use the same sensors, but didn't have any to compare.

Geordi

I got mine about a year ago and it was a exact match. I too thought there were two different ones too so I called the above online dealer and the guy said there was just one. In another thread long ago someone linked to a document saying there were two BUT the difference was for metric or English pressure and the color of the original valve cap was different then our silver/gray ones.
I really believe for the US there is only one used. A friend who owns a garage said they are available from NAPA too.

Joe

Coolness, thanks. I'll take this one off and swing by Napa. If they are that cheap ($15) I'm not going to complain about having to replace it. I was expecting like $100 each... Which for a non-replaceable battery would SUCK.

There is a difference between TPMS modules for the tires, the difference is that export vehicles use a different frequency for transmitting the information back to the WCM than the US vehicles.

For the KJ, the sensors are all the same, it just depends on the module in the vehicle if it's capable to display all 4 tires in the EVIC or not.

Which module? Something in the BCM that needs to be programmed, or the EVIC (I have the TPMS capable one) or a specific receiver part?

I'm VERY interested in getting this sorted out, it really is the only thing that my CRD is still missing, besides upgrade parts.

If I remember correctly, the WCM is the module in the KJ that receives the wireless signals from the tires. The WCM is also the module that your key fobs are programmed to and is the immobilizer for the vehicle. I've not known of anyone who has undertaken to refit a different one in their vehicle to have the premium TPMS features, so I'm not sure how to best help you.

The KJ uses a BCM,KK's use a WCM.
