Somewhere, while perusing the forums, I think I saw a picture of a spare tire mount used for a shovel and axe. It may have been a bike rack, but I'm not sure. Looked like the perfect place to get them mounted low and out of the way. Anybody else seen this and know what it was?

That looks like the one. Any idea where he might have gotten the mount?

This is a HMMWV pioneer kit. They attach to the rear bottom side of the vehicle. I drilled two wheel lug sized holes in the rack and mounted it through the spares wheel lugs with some really long bolts and I used a strap on the top to keep it from vibrating. I don't have any pictures of how it was mounted and lately I have been lazy and just mounted it with motorcycle straps. I really don't know where you can pick one up. Maybe a government auction. I procured several of these racks in pretty bad condition from DRMO and had this one sand blasted and then just rattle canned it. I also mount a bow saw to it some times.
Here is a pic of each mounting.
