Well it's almost time to change the timing belt. Lucky for me I get to do it on my 06 VW TDI too, at the same time.

Does anybody know of a place here in Phoenix where one could possibly rent the tools to do such a job (on both)?

I know others here have to be close to changing theirs too. Maybe we should have a big timing belt party?

If you are gong to party, count me in - At least to watch- I am at 91K right now AND I too have an 06 TDI Jetta ready for a timing belt. But my main interest is the timing belt change on the Liberty.

So if you do the procedure I want to be there.
I will try to think of a place to do this but can't think of any.

I had to trade my 06 Jetta in to get the Lib

I'd be in for the party (91k and counting) but I'm a little too far away.

So you are willing to "Rent" them for a small fee?
I would be willing. Send me a PM or post as I'm sure others are interested too.
Also for the VW TDI as well.
I am supprised (well not really) as how many have the diesel VW's too.

I am at 88K and will be looking for a dealer to do this. If I could get a tool set then mayeb I will do this myself. I lost a ebay bid on a set of tools back in 2008.
