Make sure you save me a spot in check in. I will be rolling at by 7, hope to make it there before 9. Maps says 90 miles @ about 1hr 50 mins so hope to get there at a decent time.
Sucks not having Dustin, but he will definitely need the rest.
At least I have a working CB this time :BANANA:

Have we agreed on the breakfast spot to meet at? And since this is my first one, i was wondering about lunch. do we pack or eat there? I know that they mention a place to eat lunch but didnt know details.

So you guys are going to meet at the restaurant at 8? I thought you were planning on signing in at 8. And you're going to do a buffet that early?

If it were up to me we'd meet at McDonalds or something just to have a common point. Plan on leaving there at 7:45 or something to be at the registration at 8. That way people can get there 10-15 mins early, grab something quick, and be on the way out at 7:45. Then again, how early do you veterans recommend we register?

Well I would be fine with meeting and eating at a McDonalds or something. Registration technically doesn't open till 9 but they will be there plenty early and ready for us to register. I am probably going to leave my house around 6am and head down 71 which it quotes me as an hour and an a half or so. So I should be down there around 7:30ish.
As far as lunch you could pack something or I believe Dustin mentioned something about a restaurant being on one of the pit stops so we could always eat there. Its really a matter of preference.

I like the Mcdonalds meeting place too. So lets nail down a time, cause we are driving there in the morning its about 2-3 hour drive. Just trying to hammer out a leave time. I need to have my antenna tuned so I can use my new CB, Jim remember your do-hicky, so hopefully we have time before the start to do that. Thanks for the lunch info, I really was not sure how this whole thing worked.

We met up @ 8:30 or so last fall in an adjacent parking lot, then we all did sign in around 8:50-9 or so. It's best to get signed up as early as possible cause they allow 1 vehicle/team to leave every 2 mins. I was like #14-15 last year and the wait seemed forever, I couldn't imagine being towards the back #35-50. We are packing a lunch and snacks for my vehicle. Also, when you leave, there is a time on the back of your packet that you are supposed to be checked back in by, they are supposed to deduct time from your score, but I don't think they did last fall, couple of us were past time cause of some wrong turns towards the end..... just a thought if you want to stop during rally to eat. We did hang out at the apple barn for about 15mins last time. Once we were all let go, we went to local gas station, got snacks, peed, then all went as a group. Hopefully I can get there early enough to register with you all so I can leave the same time.

Sounds good to me lets nail down a time! 8 or 8:30 works for me, Once we get the time nailed down I can figure out my departure time as well. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Lets plan on meeting at the fairgrounds at 8:15. Those of us that want to meet up beforehand at McD's can plan on leaving there together at 8:00. My brother and I will plan on getting there at 7:30 to have breakfast, unless the free one at the hotel is better than just cereal, in which case we may go direct to the fairgrounds.

Either way, we won't wait for anyone at McD's. If you're getting to McD's after 8 and don't see anyone, just keep driving to the fairgrounds.

Trobo, Myself and Jim will be heading down to the ralley early, I haven't had time to figure out what time and where we are meeting, I will get with jim tonight and figure out where and when and let every one know!!! :JEEPIN:

we grilled out last year, however we weren't concerned about time at that point, one of the jeeps we went with had carb problems and had to be trailered home :-(

some of you who went last year might remember seeing us on the side of the road.

I noticed that a couple of you were wondering about lunch on the rally, I suggest you stop at the Boars Nest, it is a pit stop around the mid point in the rally.

Last year, they had many of the scavenger hunt items you will need and the food was really great, and cheap! Pizza Place!

the interior of the Boars Nest is all Dukes of Hazard, there is alot of memoribilia from the show.

They have other things besides pizza but the pizza is good!

Look out for the "Witches Castle" and wayward Subaru's! :roll:

My brother and I decided that we were going to just eat breakfast at the hotel and then be at the fairgrounds at around 8:15.

If anyone else is going to be there the night before, we might try to meet up. Ryan and I will probably get to town around 9 or so, probably goof around at the hotel or a nearby watering hole til midnight and then crash. Let me know if you'll be around and want us to call you when we're in town.

The Boars Nest is not a pit stop this year, and he said the streams are up a little from the melting, so it sounds like you guys are in for a good run!

Hi, they didn't have an address for the Jefferson County Fairgrounds listed in the literature, and a phone call to Satolli came back with no address, so I Googled it and got the following

Sorry to bail out early guys. I was not thrilled with that. But due to the delay to work on that Cherokee and how long lunch took, my brother was hinting that he wanted to call it a day. He said he had a couple hours work to do when he got home and thought it was getting too late.

I wasn't very happy, I was having a great time.

Scott thanks for leading us around, you made a great guide. :SOMBRERO:

My brother took the pictures, and I've got some video, but I'm sure nothing great. I am waiting for Scott's & Trobow's pictures. Also hopefully I can nab some pics from the organizers eventually :roll:
