Does anyone know how I could go about getting the european rear bumper/spare tire cover with the license plate holder for an 05' Renegade? I can't find them on ebay and I heard that US dealerships cannot order european parts without having a euro style KJ to work on.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I have word that the part number is 5hf06ryf-ak for the spare tire lisence plate carrier. I havent confirmed this with the dealer yet, but I plan to this afternoon.

Never thought to check my parts list, but I found the spare tire license plate mount. It's listed as BRACKET, Liscense Plate. The part number is 5HF06 RXFAI in the 2004 parts list and 5HF06 RXFAK in the 2005 parts lists. I don't think there is a difference between the two parts, but I could be wrong.

Fouros: As for the MOAB's I'd be happy to bring them with me when/if I come, but I'm not quite sure on how to go about it. Do I just show up at the check in line with a big box and have it declared as luggage?

Different airlines have different policy. It's pretty standard to charge domestic (American) passengers extra if the checked items weight over 50 lbs (I think it's 50). But I don't know what intercontinental flights. Call the airline you'll be flying on and ask them. It won't be a hassle, I've seen some weird stuff checked in during all my travel. Crazy what people put on airplanes!!

Thanks for all the info everyone. I might have to get a Euro spec Cherokee door strip for my truck. That'd be kinda cool. But let's talk about putting the CRD 6-speed manual tranny in your carryon during the flight back VTNomad. I think it'll fit.

I looked into that with a LOST member from Germany, and it would cost an arm and a leg to get them and have them shipped.

W/most airlines it's 75lbs international. U'd be able to take the rims but no luggage!

Fouros I heard from Anthony @ JeepRecycling the other day and he asked me to specify which parts I was talking about. I sent him a pic with arrows pointing to the tire cover and bumper, but haven't heard anything from him.

$430 is that for the bumper, paint and tire cover?

I knew I should have done it when someone rear ended me. My neighbor's 8 year old decided her stuffed animals wanted to go for a ride, so she buckled them in and took off. Back into me, just enough to scuff the paint of the rear bumper and fender and bust my tail light, $625 repair. But then she floored it into a tree and did over $4000 damage to his Xterra. I was on the other side of the country when it happened.

hah... in parts from the dealer alone it is over 300 for the bumper (with two bumper pads ontop [the black things ontop the bumper]), and 430 alone for the tire 'cover' that holds the plate.

keep in mind this is for parts only... not including the labor.

Thanks for following up Fouros. I did get their e-mail, however, they no longer have the graphite bumper and the tire cover had some pretty good scratches in it. I was hoping finding a bumper already painted the right color would offset any shipping charges. So it looks like I'm gonna hold off for now.

I have a Euro spare-wheel holder I don't need, as I swapped mine out for a <bling>chrome</bling> cover with integrated plate holder.

Mine's a '04 Ltd - shouldn't be any dimensional or design difference though. It comes with a soft cover, too.

If you're interested, drop me a mail or a PM. I'd only really need shipping costs to be covered (and the promise of a beer should I ever make my way across the pond).

Finally, a (crappy) pic of the transformation. It is cold and wet, my jeep is dirty and I am sick, so this is a pic of it from my balcony. Instead of paying 430 dollars for the spare tire lisence plate carrier, I made a bracket from $8.00 of stuff from home depot.
