I would like to see a Hot Tuned CRD entered into the race. Less fuel stops, pulls hills like a billy goat, very unique amongst the other gasser vehicles, no problems in the dirt track challenges, would not be affected by severe temps hot or cold. Some one with some free time should try to enter, they seem to favor unique vehicles? And the prize is $200K. I might try to enter my self if not for my biz?

With 1100 or is it 11000 of these CRDs originally built and owned by enthusaists, I would be willing to sponsor a small amount, my fair share. Hmm, maybe I will have to just do it my self? Have to make contingency plans though?

BTW, team Hummer gets thrown into every challenge, so I am sure the same would go for team CRD. :shock:

Under FAQ it states

"How much does it cost to enter?
-The reality show is free to enter"

WTF?

A crd would be cool to see, but i'd bet we'd get hosed by a jetta tdi with a 6 speed manual.
I've never heard of the show previous to this, i don't watch tv

Well I can be the driver as I think I qualify for the most track time in a CRD. I would run my CRD just as it is.

Take it easy.

It is not a race, it is a rally across state highways, and secondary roads, they do not encourage speeding. You have to navigate to places with very little info and no GPS. Any ways the Jetta would not do as well in the challenges, that is dirt track most of the time. A TDI Jetta would be my second choice just for the lack of fuel ups.

jinstall, a stock CRD would be just fine as well.

I don't have $10k either. That would buy alot of HPDE on tracks on the east coast. I drive faster everyday than they probably do on that show. HPDE is where it is at.

I'm thinking a WRX/Evo would be the best all around vehicle to deal with the variety of driving required. The Jeep is just not as flexible with on-pavement stuff, and the off-road rarely requires pavement, just AWD.

I watch too much TV, I realize the EVO was one of the first eliminated last season, but that's because the drivers were dicks.

The Jeep holds its own pretty good with the ESP. You can jerk the wheel to the left or right, and it responds with no squealing of the tires. I know, I have tried it. I was glad to see team viper go on the newest episode, now the 2 dicks in team Lamborghini need to go next, they are smart, I give them that.

After watching last night EP on speed, I can say a 4x4 would have almost won, but that hemi cuda was hitting 90 in the straight away, so IDK... :twisted:

Yeah, that's why I mentioned AWD turbo cars that go nearly as well on pavement as most of the supercars. And last year it was that POS Avalanche that come in second - I have no idea how the Corvette won.

MY Liberty does just fine on-road and in the curves, enough to have sports cars givve me a thumbs up after making a run through some twisties at speed. I can't speak for other Liberties but mine holds its own.

Exactly, that is why the Libby CRD would be a good contender. And it has the E brake on the hump, I remember in one episode the avalanche had to use a pair of vise grips on the E brake to do a slide manuever. It is not a speed race, the fastest vehicle is not the only factor, and a hot tuned CRD would fly for track competitions. Some of you don't know what that hot tune can do.

Any ways, the whole point of this post was to enter a CRD. Not a Subaru, or any other vehicle, other wise the post does not really fit this forum.

I can set up a paypal account for donations for an entrance fee. Oh wait I need to read to see if I can even qualify as a driver. I USED to hold a DMSB/FIA Class C race license and that may disqualify me.

The whole point? Really? You sure? If you didn't want discussion about anything else about the subject "Bullrun" you should have been more clear. Despite claims the Libby is the be-all in on-road handling, it's not.
