you are either going to have to get longer springs or get a larger isolator as you will need need more then what you have now............

Yes
so with a 2.5" lift, what is the best thing to do for the rear?
Thanks Dig

I'd say springs...

Depending on how sagged your rear springs are, you are either going to be sitting level or be 1.0 plus rake on the front

If the 2.5 coil over gives you 2.5" you will be 1.25" lower in the front after your two per side iso install in the rear. Normally stock is already 0.75".

I am 1.5" from front to rear but after adjusting the front to be more than a 4" lift - want to sit lower in the front 0.75" like stock. Camber is off to much to level it as it just gets worse and its the bad camber to have the roll over type.

so if I get the 2.5" rear shocks and springs (JBA) then I will maintain the .75 rake?
I only want to have to do this once.
I would like to know what others have done on their 2.5" lifts.
thanks

I have the 2.5" lift on mine from JBA and put in on a few weeks ago
with the 2.5" springs you actually get about 1 3/4 lift in the rear so I set my front coils to 2.5 to make the jeep exactly level.
Let me know if you need any more info

How much more can you adjust it the front to get more out of the lift?

cool
Let me just clarify, and because Im a half witted noob. :dizzy:

you have: FRONT= JBA 2.5 coilovers set to 2.5" , REAR= JBA 2.5" rear springs (givig you 1 3/4 lift in rear :?: ) shouldnt 2.5" lift springs give you 2.5" lift? and if so, wouldnt that still make the rear higher than the front?
My :?: is, how does adding 2.5" coilovers to the front and 2.5" springs in the rear make the car level? :dizzy:
Sorry if Im not gettig it.

The 2.5" rear springs from JBA aren't intended to lift the rear 2.5"
they are meant to lift the rear enough to level the jeep with
2.5" lift in front.

Perfect
much appreciated

Im wondering how much trouble would it be if you could measure where your top adjustable spring perch is, like if you were to measure just the threaded part from the top to the bottom lip of the perch. Or whever you think would be a good place to measure so I could do the same. That way I can have a very close place to start when I install them.
any time in the next couple of days would be fine. :SOMBRERO:

I have the same setup as you in front so I guess I could lift the front
4" or so too but I didn't want that much lift so I went with the 2.5"
I think you stated it before that with the front lifted 4" the springs are compressed quite a bit so to leave some space left between the springs any more than 4" is probably asking for trouble and a rough ride

You both are right. I am 3" down from the top thread on the driver side and 2.5" on the passenger side. The springs get more compressed the more you crank down to get more of a lift, well i think. The springs are 7" tall and compress to 5". The threads do stop and I'm sure they were designed so you could not max it out.

Are you sure that the 2.5" is the same as the 4" I thought the top was different. Oh you are right! Just checked the JBA webpage for a while there was separate items, now one side fits all. No wonder I am cranking down so much. BUT why then do you have to choose which size lift 2.5, 4 or 6 for this item?? Hmm

it uses the spring perch to adjust height

Think dirtykk is right. The spring shouldn't really compress anymore once it is supporting the weight of the jeep. Adjusting the strut more just lifts the jeep more.

Stubble88. I'll get you the measurement for 2.5" on mine tomorrow. I have skids, sliders, and a roof rack on mine but it should get you close.

That doesn't surprise me, I had to install extra isolators for each side for my JBA 2.5" which I installed early last May (one of his earlier ones he sold). That helped get the rear and front proportionate. I had provided the feedback to Marlin.
