I just installed an OTIS and a rear view mirror in the jeep.

OTIS problems are:
1. chimes every time I hit a button on it
2. is constantly on
3. temperature works and sometimes does not work

what I am really looking for is to get the chiming to go away and for it to turn off when the vehicle is not on. Thanks

Mirror problems
1. always on again, want it to turn off when the vehicle is off :D

Thanks,

Steve

You sure you spliced into all the correct wires??
My evic doesn't have a clock, its a stopwatch for elapsed time.

Did you fix the always on problem?

yea i double checked

my mirror turns on with the ignition now, but the OTIS does not and it still chimes when i hit the garage door buttons...also, the lights dont turn on when i click them, something is seriously going wrong on this.

I doubt theres anything wrong. Wire the power wire into the power wire for the radio so it turns on when the radio is on. That's what I did. But when I turn the radio off the evic is off as well, homelink still works though when igition is off.
As for the lights, you sure you shoved the cable in all the way? If it still doesn't work you can easily swap the old lights into the otis so the plug will still match up. As for the dinging, did you reset everything?

Mine does that too. I thought it was supposed to. It chimes when I hit any buttons.

ok I fixed it!

so here we go

here is how I plugged them in

Blue/White: Plugged it into my BCM #16, but then moved it to my radio and connected it to my rear view mirror to give them both a 12 v source on ignition

Black/Green: Ground - #4 on BCM

Pink: Fused B + on #16 on the BCM.

Violet/Yellow: PCI Bus on #2 on the BCM

everything works now

I used this

http://www.jeepkj.com/evic/

and this for wiring help

You gotta clear the previous garage code. Hold the first and last homelink button until it says it cleared. Then you gotta push the learn button on your garagedoor opener while holding which ever button you want to use for homelink to link them. Thats how I did it. And I just messed with it til it worked. lol

Okay you own an 03 Liberty, do you have any idea what year the OTIS came from?
I have about three OTIS/EVIC units that won't show temp in my 04 Liberty because they came from a different year Liberty. Just to be safe look in front of your radiator and see if you have a temp sensor there. My 04 Liberty came with one but it seems not all did.

If your still having problems with the homelink the owners manual tells how to program for openers with rolling codes and some openers have a time limit on the transmisson time regardless of how long you hold the button down, theres a different programing setup for those in the owners manual also.
