I was driving up to Flagstaff to play in the snow with the family and pulled over about 8 miles S of Flag to get something out of the ice chest. Left the engine running for about five minutes before taking off to re-enter the freeway. I accelerated quickly to about 60 mph and that was it,

lucky to maintain that speed, fortunately traffic was light. I proceeded on to our destination, about 25 more miles at 7000' with little or no boost but able to maintain speed high enough not to get run over, using the down hill areas to ramp up the other side. Of course I'm thinking boost hose as there was no CEL. Pull up to the so-called plowed road and proceed

another mile into the very nice big cabine being thankful I'm in the Liberty and not the Outback.
Unload the Jeep and its 5 occupants to the cabin, that's out of propane and find out the heater is broken as well and now I'm

since I realize my toolbox is sitting in the back of the Outback I drove to Flag the previous Tuesday

. I do have duct tape. Call the cabin's owner to acces the garage only to find an SAE set of sockets, a screwdriver, and a 8" crescent. I proceed to tackle the driver side CAC hose first as it appears harder to get to...but of course the clamps were put on in a way that only a magician could access but I managed and couldn't find a hole.....but wrapped the crud out of the hose anyway and reattached.
Thinking the driver side hose was the more difficult I confirmed the notion I should stop thinking

The clamp screw on the passenger side at the engine was facing straight back and I just didn't have the tools to get to it. I couldn't even loosen the (10 mm)nuts holding the coolant recovery container as the crescent was too big. So....I asked my trusty, ever so NON mechanical wife to wrap the hose (which I too couldn't find a hole in) as I held it straight up from the back connection. Put it all back together and had my wife start it while I watched. Passenger side hose expanded and contracted like normal...but will it hold???
Drove into Williams that night with all systems OK

to stay at the Super 8, so much for the free cabin! Drove 150 miles back to Phoenix w/o problems
Lessons learned:
never forget tool box
making the wife leave the duct tape in was worth the arguement
I should have shut off the engine and restarted first to see if it was a computer glitch since I couldn't find a hole in either hose
Reading this forum is worth every minute of listening to me wife complain I'm on the computer too much
