I've seen posts on both the GDE and Inmotion products discussed, but I think that most have been discussed separately lately. What are the key differences in their products? What are their strengths and limitations?

I saw a dyno article awhile back comparing them, but it has been some time. Are there some recent comparisons? :JEEPIN:

Thanks for any information you can offer! :D

I have the GDE eco tune on one jeep and inmotion stage 2 on the other.

GDE has less turbo lag. More features: linear fuel gauge, cruise control above 85mph, viscous heater turn-down, most important NO EGR!! Downside - it throws the EVIC way off, although I have heard they have something of a fix for that.

Inmotion has more raw power. The jeep just explodes forward when the turbo spools up. It also costs half of what GDE does.

I haven't tried GDE's hot tune, so that may be the best of both worlds, if the EVIC fix is incorporated.

Thanks CATCRD!

This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for. From what I can read, the Inmotion folks have been around for awhile supplying products for a range of vehicles. The GDE folks are relatively new, but appear to have done some nice engineering for a green solution that has polish and power. If the price point were a bit better, I would probably jump at GDE.

How are these companies been to work with? Are they responsive on questions and the like?

Again, thanks! This is great... 8)

I don't know about Inmotion, but GDE are very good in responding to questions and are very helpful.

Kieth at GDE is very responsive and will answer any question you have about their tune. Best customer service I think I have ever had! I recently bought the eco tune and I am kicking myself for not getting it sooner. I've gotten a solid 3-4 (and possibly more) improvement in MPG's and the Jeep is just so smooth and responsive its even noticeable to my wife  and the best of all it turns off the CEL for the EGR.  The GDE tune makes the jeep drive like it should have from the factory.

I got the GDE and its well worth the price. Keith from GDE is very responsive to emails and is very knowledgeable. His company also answers many questions on this forum and in private regarding CRD issues. These people know our vehicle and their whole focus is on the Liberty CRD. My only regret is that GDE won't make a tune for a Grand Cherokee CRD.

My dyno tests (see my posts) show GDE HOT produces a little more power than IM SII. Mileage is 3-4 MPG better. Overall cost of GDE is much less because an SEGR professionally assembled and installed runs over $400. (It's way beyond an average owner to successfully assemble and install themselves.) IM SII requires SEGR. GDE does not because their programming disables EGR.

Plus, GDE offers additional neat features. (They developed the OEM application, so they can manipulate EVERY ECU parameter.)

However you look at it, it's simply no contest.

Thanks to the previous owner Ive got a Suncoast, Transco and Inmotion stage two. This is no kidding, from a dead stop on dry pavement with NEW tires I can burn off both rear wheels for 20+ feet leaving a stop light!!!! SCARY power for a small SUV. Im going GDE because they are so darn CRD anal like me, but the Inmotion will NOT disapoint.

'Cept the 'factory' had to pass emmissions...

For me there was no comparison. GDE knows the system inside and out and knows which knobs to turn up and which to leave alone for durability and driveability. I have to drive this thing every day and it's virtually irreplacable (can't get a new one any more).
