steel front diff

Jeepin by all was contemplating building one out of steel. Sounds like a good idea. Found a questionaire on facebook regarding it. I would be interested ikn one definately. What are you guys opinions?

if you fill out the form - it has a drop down menu - the first number is $1500 for the diff shell only - seems high - but definitely cheaper than SFA.

Last time I looked, a complete NEW unit from Chryco was almost $1900 and was back ordered.....

Im interested. I dont know how to build one so I picked the 2500$ fully made and bolt in, I might be interested in the 1500$ but like I said I dont know how to build one or what I need to build one.

I'm amazed it took this long to finally get to this point. If it was also available for the KK it might have a chance of surviving. If I didn't already have a spare for my wifes KJ I might be interested.

Nope, the KK still has a aluminum diff that modeled off of a D30 out of a JK

itll work, kind of expensive to just buy im sure but if yours ever breaks it would be a good replacement and no this wont eliminate anything

If the price would be under $1,500 for the housing I would buy, and prob. wouldn't IFS in the next year or so !!

Then how is this thing going to work if he is asking us if we wanted to run bigger gears.. like 4.10's with 32" tires, 4.56 with 34" tires, and 4.88 with 36" tires?

More choices as the housing will be a standard Dana 30 like those found in TJ's and XJ's. We are limited by the Dana 30A housing as they only make either the 3.73's or the 4.10's for it.
