is the only difference between your KJs and ours, as far as the mounting of a snorkel goes anyway, that we've got turn indicators things where you've got your radio aerial?

I believe this is correct, unless your air box is also swapped. Ours is on the starboard side of the Jeep.

I'm in, but the one thing I'm worried about is the Stock Antenna is on the right hand side too, and might be in the way of the snorkel.

If you are going to cut the hole to put the snorkel in, I don't think moving the antenna will be too much of a problem... I'm thinking we can figure that out...

I'd be in... as long as its not to much for shipping and all...

Shipping is going to be expensive, but not outrageous when you take it into context. Oz is a long way from North America.

Maybe if we could all get together and do a group buy and have them ship them all to someone here and then just reship them out, we could save a few bucks on shipping.

Let's get them made first, and then we can go from there...

That's what I was thinking. The XJ snorkels took over 2 years to get them where they are finally shipping out a finished product.

You have to "make" it fit, and most people here will probably not be willing to do the "make" part of it LOL.

Indeed!

Could one of you US guys post a square-on side view of your KJ. I'm guessing that your radio aerial is in exactly the same place as our side turn indicator light is it?

Image

Irritatingly that, I would imagine, is exactly where the snorkel would want to sit. Not such a problem for you guys, relocating an aerial isn't too much hassle, but a pain for us since all sorts of road-worthyness stuff depends on us having that light there! I'm sure the snorkel makers will find a way around it.

[edit]Yep, here's a picture of dano104's KJ, looks like it's exactly the same place[/edit]

Word, chem. I would've been more than happy to take a holesaw to my Montero or Trooper, but that nice shiny paint on my KJ...uh, nah. I'll wait till there are real instructions, or someone else wants to do it and accept responsibility for any unwanted results for the same price as a snorkel kit:P

You could mount the side turn signal to the outside of the snorkel, run the wire inside.
