Hello,

I'm looking at '06 and '07 liberties. I've driven them and like them I'm just concerned about reliability. It doesn't seem like these are any better or worse than competitors but I'm still concerned. What should I look for as problem areas when looking at these trucks? I know about the window regs and that doesn't concern me as a window down porbably won't strand me in the woods somewhere. I'm going to use the truck off road quite a bit but dricing daily to work is my primary concern. I'd like to get at least a couple years out of this thing before a major problem comes up. Little electrical things aren't my primary concern, more like things that will leave me somewhere. Thanks for any help!

Some think it's a piece of junk. Even one of our moderators dumped his early on. I think it is reliable. In the 65,000 miles that we have put on our 2006 CRD, it has left us stranded 0 times. You can look up any make and model and find where folks have had flaws and concerns. It's pretty capable offroad if you use common sense. You can't go balls to the walls and expect it to hold up. It gets descent fuel mileage. Little hard on tires IMO, but that's minor.

I have an 06 with 48k on the clock. So far not a single major issue, there are some known problems with the window regulators and gas tanks over filling but these have not been recalled yet. The ball joints were recalled a while back and chances are the libs that you will be looking at were either replaced or have newer ones. Carfax may be able to see that.

So far pretty reliable.

good to hear. The reviews on the internet are pretty positive with the exception of the windows.

I haven't had a window issue. The rubber moulding on the outside of the rear windows drys out and it makes the window "sqwauk" when operated. I just lube it and it quiets down for a few months.
