In that case.... does anyone know if an oiled filter (K&N) voids the warranty? I for-see many problems w/ this thing and do not want a hassle down the road. I have the 80,000 Bumper-2-Bumper.

I have a K&N Oiled for about 23K Miles with no issues. K&N Gaurantees they wont void your warranty and Mopar makes a drop in oiled filter which i believe is made by AEM.

I have a drop in K&N filter. When I have an oil change done, the dealer cleans and re-oils it for me.

I think my K&N might be the reason I'm getting such crap gas mileage, I think the oil has affected the sensor...

oil free is a hassler if you do it wrong you SCREW up your MAFs... thats why i went with the bruteforce... same idea but oil less and in my opinion it works better... just recharge the filter once every 8k... simple solution you just rinse the thing out let it dry then put the filter back on

The KA and KK do not have a mass air flow (MAS/MAF) sensor.
They use a combination of a manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, intake air temperature (IAT) sensor, and 2 oxygen (O2) sensors. These sensors communicate with the engine control unit (ECU), which calculates the correct amount of fuel to inject into the cylinders.
The MAP sensor on the 3.7 is located on the front bottom of the intake manifold.
The location of the MAP sensor is too far from the filter to be adversely affected by the small amount of oil on the filter. The IAT sensor is located in the intake tube between the air-box and the throttle body. But it would take a lot of oil and dirt accumulation on the IAT sensor for it to affect the temperature reading.
