hey everyone i have a 2010 kk sport and im looking to install some auxiliary lights in the front......i have two questions....

1. is there a way to install these lights without have a bullbar or brushguard? i have seen only two kk's with lights installed and the had small bars attached to the grills....any thoughts?

2. http://piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/525.html i want these lights because i lost my highbeam function when i installed my hid's-----does anyone have any experience with the piaa 525's?

thanks in advance

im really looking for a good way to mount these lights without drilling into the bumper. :JEEPIN:

You can buy the bar that goes on the bumper for $524 from the dealer or talk to a fab shop or PM STTCustoms on here, I heard he is working on one that will be alot cheaper than factory and probably stronger.

Here is a link to a thread by Mr Nick that has a MUCH cheaper solution to mounting lights than the insanely priced MOPAR bumper add on. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=40021

It takes a little work but it looks like it comes out really nicely. I haven't done it, I just remembered the thread and thought it might be helpful. Somehow some of the imbedded images are messed up in the thread but if you cut and paste the URLs for the pictures into a browser window you can see the pictures.

Here's my setup;

And accomplished without drilling through my bumper at a cost of less than $10 (not including the Hella700FF lamps)
I've down this trick on another Liberty, it's a pretty stable setup, no vibration.

I can take some measurements and post the project details on-line if there's an interest.

OP has a KK, but in theory it should work.

Oh and I remember someone saying "its not your Jeep until you drill that first hole in it" :BANANA:

Yup. There is a steel plate directly beneath the bumper cover that holds them there quite securely. The only pain is getting a socket wrench under there. If you have tow hooks, they have to be removed. I was able to do the job without removing the bumper, but it took some special tools to do it, like swivels and socket extensions used in creative ways. The tow hooks can be bolted back in place afterwards as well. It's a nice clean, factory-looking install 8)
