Ok let set a place and time if you want to do sunrise that is at 7:30am so maybe be on beach 7:00-7:15. I called and the only open beaches are Democrat Point and Montauk. I'm good for ether. Montauk is a long ride for the Queens guys and an early morning for sunrise.

I can meet at 7ish for a run but I don't think I can make it out to montauk by that time. So maybe demo would be good? Even all the Suffolk county beaches are closed due to heavy beachfront erosion. Should we meet at Robert Moses or someplace else?

Just a thought.

I'm good for anything that goes down Sunday or Monday. Apparently I unsubscribed myself from this thread, so I missed a page and a half of posts, lol.. I'm going to text you guys tomorrow to see what's going on.

On a different note, I'm going to the city on Saturday for unlimited wings and beer for $23 at a place called Down the Hatch. Best wings in the city, hands down. Let me know if you want to come by.

Oh yeah, I bought a lift, I'm going to set up a lift party as soon as I speak to my friend and figure out a date that we are free. I'll keep everyone posted.

Oh and, lol.. I'm not sure if I will be able to get a pole before we hit the beach. So Peter, if you think I can "borrow" yours that would be sweet. Also, did anyone get the Saltwater Mariners License?

Ok, I'm rambling, I think I'll hit you guys up on Saturday.

Anyway, talk to you guys soon.

well heres a kick in the nuts for mondays plans, some people have no respect for sun bathers...

Subject: 4WD access to Robert Moses

Gentlemen, after allowing access to the beachfront for permit holders at
Moses it became clear this was going to be an operational problem. 4WD
vehicles were driving right next to sun bathers. So effective immediately
access will be limited, vehicles may be on the beach from 7 P.M. to 8 A.M.
as soon as the contractors have completed their work access will again be
through the normal 4WD road and normal hour of operation will resume.
Gilgo and Sore Thumb still not accessible. Sorry for the inconvenience, we
are trying. betsy

Elizabeth Wintenberger
Facility Manager
Robert Moses/ Captree State Parks

If we get in by 7AM we still have an hour to drive around or we can get there earlier. We should be at the traffic circle by 6:30 or even earlier so we can have time air down. Or a 7PM run. Just a thought.
infernicus i have every thing extra except for the pole and the mariners fishing license is only needed if your actually fishing. The parks police will only ask you for it when you are fishing and your line is in the water. I got mine in hopes that i will soon start fishing.

Well isn't that our luck, lol. Once again I'm good for anything, whatever the group consensus is.

Peter, thanks anyway, I'll stop and get a pole this weekend, and probably pick up the license anyway. I wouldn't mind dabbling in some fishing this year.

I'm watching this thread now, so I'll be on top of it. But when we do decide, someone shoot me a text or call me, lol.

So...
Should we do a beach run still if we can't be on the beach for more than an hour?
I am down with heading east if you want but, I gotta be back in Queens by 3:30 the latest. I guess if we do an early meet, it should not be a problem. Is the 4X4 entrance closed due to construction at Demo?

If you guys are early birds we can still pull off the beach. Maybe 5:30, air down 5:45, and from there we'll still have time to drive the beach, take some pictures while the sun is rising and what now, and maybe walk down to the Jetty.

Ok. So here's the planski. Talked to Benny and we should meet at the Robert Moses water tower (pencil) at the traffic circle at 6am. Then we can head out to the beach do some pics and a drive on the beach at sunrise. And from there we can continue east for more or whatever we decide upon, food, trails or head back homeward. :SOMBRERO:
Good?
