Prevents the metal scrapes and if it gets damaged, the HDPE can be replaced and still no scrapes to the steel. Should slide easier on the rocks also.

HDPE is similar to what a plastic kitchen cutting board is made out of, just a smooth casting of it. Good stuff.

I am interested, but I don't want to be put on the list till I see some better pictures. So far, I like what I see, I just can't see it that well. and I have an `02 Limited, no interest in steps.

OK, here's the list I have so far of those interested:

ManicMechanicJoe
white04KJ
BlackOps
Tokyojoe
KW AV8R
SunDvl (05 KJ)
nails023 (05 KJ)

I need to know year of KJ and most importantly, standard or step model. Getting ready to order up some steel, and need to be sure I start with enough. Thanks for your support guys.

RL,
I will be moved to denver in the beginning of June. I will prepay for these to get the lower proce but I was wondering if you could wait to make mine until I can come down and pick them up sometime in June. I will probably be making an order for a front bumper and maybe a rear bumper as well. Let me know. You can PM me if you want.

Thanks again for creating stuff for the KJ.

Just bump this back up to the top. I will have the materials this coming Monday, so I will be hitting these skink sliders pretty hard. Surprisingly, I haven't had a single prepaid order yet. Not a big deal since there is still plenty of time to do so, but with the next order I get, I will be able to purchase a tubing bender, which means I can make the Skink "Super" Sliders, which will be the standard slider, with a round outer tube, similar to other rails like ORGS Supernerfs and Custom 4x4. Any interest is Skink Sliders with a round outer tube?

I'm going to stick with the standard sliders I think. Sorry we let this thread sort of die off like this.

I just wanted to check on how payments should be made - you use PayPal, right? If all goes well you should be getting my prepayment soon. Since there's no link available to pay for the sliders yet, how do we go about sending in the payment? Do we just shoot you an email detailing our order, and transfer the proper amount to your paypal account?

Thanks again for all the work you've been putting in on these KJ products, I can't wait to install these sliders!

I do take paypal, VISA, Mastercard, or Western Union Money Order. If you are prepaying, then I can take the prepayment anytime, and will bill you the shipping amount when they are ready to go. I can estimate the shipping cost for you anytime. I have all the materials to start making these now, since I picked up the HDPE sliders today. I am going to make a test fit before mass production, just to make sure my new measurements are correct. I also changed the mounting design. Instead of the three legs to the unibody, I will be doing four legs that are triangulated just like my XJ sliders, and they will use 1/2" though bolts with crush sleeves. The mounts for the unibody will just be flat plat, unlike the XJ mounts, the the arms are exactly the same setup. This is a much stronger design, and it saves me time (thus saving you money) because I can use the same jig to setup the unibody mounting legs. When I say "saves you money", the price will not change because it does take a little more material to build, but build time is decreased and a stronger mounting system occurs.

Here are the XJ sliders compared to the old KJ slider mounting design:

I will be ordering a set of skink sliders as soon as I get approval from my financial manager  which should be in the next couple of weeks (either in the next week or as soon as I get my deployment money from Uncle Sam).

Just one question; what is polyurethane on them?

I'm thinking about pre-paying so I can get a set. My rails are pretty trashed :)

That's been answered several times already.

"Prevents the metal scrapes and if it gets damaged, the HDPE can be replaced and still no scrapes to the steel. Should slide easier on the rocks also."
"The HDPE is a 2" wide by 1/4" thick strip that bolts to the length of the bottom of the slider rail. It isn't a paint or coating, just a simple bolt on plastic slider plate."

Aye! She's a beauty! and that's without a paint job! Can't wait to get mine and paint it up.

Skink Sliders people! Start ordering yours now!

Folks! The picture doesn't do it justice. You have to see it live! Not like Memorex.

Marty is doing a great job for all of us at LOST. I watched him work on these beasts! One thing. Don't let Ted (USAFCOP) stand around and watch also or the room might explode when Marty is welding.........HAHAHA!!!

Hmm, so they have two mount points to the pinch weld?

No, that smaller tube bolts to the outside of the pinch weld with (7) 5/16" bolts. The two large frame mounts use 1/2" through bolts with a crush sleeve and a backing plate. This is the setup I use on my XJ sliders, and you can build an exo cage off those.
