Many of you have installed the TranGo kit in your transmission.

My question is:

TRansGo kit Yes or No?

I am going to Fort Walton Beach, FL for a work project and when I am there, I will order my SunCoast Converter (don't trust the OEM Euro, sorry) and Transgo Shift kit. The OEM mush shifting is to protect the fragile stock converter, nothing more. Mush shifting wears out your clutch packs sooner. Harsh shifting torques the power train too much. Since I am spending the time and money to make my 545RFE perform well and last, the Transgo shift kit to correct the OEM mush shifting is for me.
For grins and giggles, hop into a Ram 1500 with a 545RFE or Liberty gasser with the 4 speed auto and compare the shifting, more normal.

I have the kit in one jeep and not in the other. I can hardly tell the difference anymore. I don't have the line pressure resistor installed anymore because it made shifts clunky and inconsistent. Unless you're accelarating hard while pulling something heavy, or going WOT, you can't feel the difference. No one can say if it improves the life of your transmission, because no one has that data. I would say skip it. I won't be putting it in my second jeep.

Last November while gathering information on whic tc to buy, I called Suncoast converters and the owner informed that he will not let a Liberty CRD go out of his shop without a TransGo kit.

needless to say i purchased one but never installed it.

So I have a TransGo kit for sale if anyone is interested, $50 + shipping.

If I went back, I wouldn't as I notice no difference.

I have the trans go shift kit, and fwiw, it makes the shift points harder and clunkier. I have the Suncoast, and so I don't worry about it (much), but I don't like it much, either.

If you are going to have the trans open anyways, I say yes. If only to install the beefier accumulator plate.

Why don't you wait and see what GDE comes up with. As mentioned the TCM "learns" and will do what it's programmed to do. There has also been reports of the SunCoast TC shuttering :jester:
