this is just a thought, got it from looking at a hwmvee today before work... but if you cut the length of the diff made it shorter and move the axis of the control arms in towards the center of the vehicle and in essence made them longer with more travel at the wheels would them being mounted so far inwards decrease the stability of the vehicle? i mean after all the majority of the weight would be carried by the coilovers which would still be mounted in approx. same position...

i understand what you're gettin at

but..

our diff is only about 2 1/2 feet long as it is

and there is an IFS project, not particularly with the jeeps, that does what you're talkin about with the control arms

but what you're discussing would be about twice the cost of a SFA when all was said and done

hhmmm ok, well i was just throwing around some ideas there trying to get at better travel... but you know if jeep had made the dakar instead of the liberty... we would have a floating front diff with ifs... so there wouldn't be the suspension travel problem noted before... anyways is jba's 4" a pretty stout lift? it seems like it but it also seems quite steep... anything that can compete for less??

Yes there is OME springs with top plate etc or a Frankenlift
either can give you 4 inches of lift

x2 or x3 or 4 or whatever the count is on what tom said/says :P

but on the topic of JBA2.5's or JBA4's in terms of the coils, they are skyjacker softride coils and are at or near stock spring ratios

i have the jba2.5's with 2 extra iso's on the rear of mine, with the added weight of a 170ish lb bumper, plus a 70 lb gas tank skid and probably 200lbs of static cargo in the back, the softrides are bearable, but squat much easier than the ome927's with a 170lbs of bumper in the front, so my vehicle tends to canter and spring back when going through ditch like drains such as whats across the parking lot entrance where I live and it's actually quite annoying

but i've grown used to it, would prefer a stiffer spring that came in at 2.5-3" with the extra 2 isos, my opinion the OME948's with 2 isos would have came out better

but, like i said, rear spring wise, it's liveable, and my vehicle rides VERY very VERY good on the road as well as offroad
