Alright so I got 245/70R/16 on atm.. Couple months old and I'll be getting my 3 inch lift soon. What is the MAX tire size I can go without screwing doo doo up. I dont wan't the Libby to be sluggish and I also don't want to get new gearing and doo doo.

keep the tires you got or maybe 245/75/16 or 265/70/16, most people would not recommend anything larger without regearing.

With out gears, you are going to burn up the trans if you go larger...

Stay stock.

Any tire larger then stock will reduce trans life without regearing.

Ive been toying with the idea of re-gearing mine, still have some issues w/ power almost feels like the KJ has a bad motor w/ only 50k on it!?, whats the best gears to run? 3.73s or 4.10s? I have a Frankenlift premium w/ 245/75/R16s

3.73 would be a waste of time and money, especially if you ever go bigger. 4.10 would be the way to go.

Do you need to regear if going from 235/70/16 to 245/70/16?

hold up one sec... my dad bought my jeep brand new and he put 31's on a week later. 10 years and 210k miles im rockin 31's on the original automatic trans and engine and i havn't had a trans flush since 75k.

31's must be good for your trans cause i've heard people say that the trans on the tj's are notorious for going out around 150k.

A TJ is worlds different then a KJ and about 700lbs lighter.

The biggest issue is the weight, the total circumference takes it's toll but the overall added weight of bigger tires is the biggest factor.A rule of thumb is for every 1lbs of added rotational weight it's like adding 10lbs of total vehicle weight. It adds up fast.
