There seems to be a lot of negatives on listed on this board daily, how about somethings we like about our CRDs. I will go first :D

I like the funny looks on peoples faces as the turbo whistles as I drive by.
I like getting 19.5 mpg while towing 3000 lbs.
I like the heated seats in the winter and the sunroof in the summer.
I like the one time I had to argue with the gas station employee because he wouldn't turn on the diesel pump for me.

When in doubt, I always revert to the reason I bought the CRD in the first place: Find me another vehicle that can get 30+mpg and 600+miles/tank, handle snow and dirt roads with ease, tow 5,000 lbs, and runs on an engine durable enough to last for a few 100k miles... All while costing you, used, around $15k.

Loves biodiesel. Low cost in a very useful vehicle.

1.) 20-22 mpg (winter/summer)
2.) pulls 5k pounds easily
3.) Goes anywhere I really want to go.
4.) Hauls wife and kids w/ room for groveries
5.) Fits in a 2 CAR garage w/ wife's vehicle (the death nell of my F-150 Supercrew)
6.) Love to here it torque through a field or over a hill at-speed
7.) Love the diesel clatter and turbor whine
8.) Interior panel and hood shape reminds me of the '70's era Mercedes 5-cylinders Dad used to drive
9.) Goes where I want to go, hauls want I want to haul and saves me $. Nuff said.

gets as about the same MPG as the Subaru it replaced.

Does way more than said Subaru could even if the Roo was a nice car.

Looks and sounds way better.

Sits up higher than the Outback I like that

I can realy go off road not just down counrty lanes and on roads in bad weather.

I like the way my wife rolls her eyes at the Advance Auto people when they tell her she's buying the wrong oil...

Other than that it's hard to say. I would never have even test driven a Liberty if not for the diesel engine. I've had it for four years now and still really like it.

All of the above, plus one more important aspect: the very useful knowledge base brought by this forum, which helps us A LOT in getting through the hardship of quirks and ill-tempered days of our toy tanks!!!

They do unless you are willing to pay $10 a gallon for it.

This is a reference to B100. I pay a small premium for 100% domestic fuel that is a 5% soybiodiesel and 95% Dino blend. And yes, it is domestically derived. Yes, it does keep my money here instead of in a land where they bribe mothers and fathers to send their sons to go blow up themselves. The sons are bribed with falsehoods. And yes, I think it is worth it. It is a choice and it is my choice even though it is a lonely choice at times. :ALONE: All of my energy is domestically derived until "Cap and Steal" forces my electricity provider out of business. My very frugal wife doesn't say a word. She gave birth to our beautiful daughter early on 9/11. We watched chaos unfold on Fox and CNN as we held her for the first time.

I apologize for the mini-lecture  but do applaud the B100 crowd...I just can't afford to fill the tank with a bad home-brew blend.

I mentioned low cost fuel. With a little time, my fuel cost is less than $1.00 per gallon. It's non-polluting, non-petroleum sourced.

Biodiesel: NO WAR REQUIRED

I would never have bought a KJ if it didn't have a turbo diesel engine..... and it pisses off hippies.

But we're Americans. We like a good fight from time to time.
