OK I know I posted today that I had no real issues yet with my Jeep but then I left for the Gym. I was nearly there when it started to act very odd. I had passed a car and change back in to the lane I was in when i went to push on the go pedal again it was like I was loosing power. I could hear the engine and the turbo whine but there was a loss there. as I drove to the next light and slowed until traffic picked up from the light changing green again I could feel it wanting to go but there was just no power to go like normal. I was thinking I blew a CAC hose but there was no thick black smoke from the tail pipe like others said they had when bursting a CAC. I was around the corner from the gym and I had to pull over into a parking lot because it couldn't even get out of it's own way anymore. when I pulled over the engine was Idiling like a gasser not firing on all cylinders. I turned it off and opened the hood, took a look, nothing seemed wrong so I started the engine again. this time it ran rough so I shut it off and checked he oil and CAC hoses, nothing seemed wrong. I tried starting it again and it ran like nothing was wrong. I drove around the corner to the gym worked out then drove it home. I drove kinda hard on the way home and it was fine again too.

What in the world could have caused that?

Computer gremlins or air in the fuel. Back a few years ago a lot of people would post about experiencing that. Almost always after trying to accelerate like you did. Some said they almost got killed pulling out into traffic. Do you have a fuel lift pump installed?

The couple of times I've had that - it's been a fuel problem
add PowerService until I could change the filter and it all cleaned up

never got a CEL off of it.

i don't have a lift pump. i was thinking air in the fuel too but when I pressed the primer it was firm. not soft like i have felt when there is air.

Not air in fuel - water in fuel maybe?- or at least something that didn't want to burn well
(but not enough to trip the sensor)

that may be the issue. I did get fuel at a Rutter's the day before, I dont go to that part of town often and honestly don't know how much diesel fuel they sell. There is only one diesel pump there, most of the newer locations that sell it have it on more than one island. I think that there maybe something other than diesel in that tankfull I got, maybe just a little water or a bit of gas. I am going to add some power service in the morning and hope for no more trouble.

my filter has been in less than 10,000 miles so I don't think so but that could still be possable. I will try is power service and if i pitches a fit again i'll pick up a new filter

Does not matter how long the filter has been in there. Junk in the fuel does not care how new or old your filter is :banghead:

Ok so It was something bad in the fuel or computer gremblins. I was thinking what if they added a little gas in the tanks at the filling station and I got a little that would cause it not to run, un likely but what if it happened? Whatever it seems to have passed for now.
I have added power service and topped up on the way to work this morning. So far all is still fine. IF it happens again I will get a new fuel filter ASAP.

I had a similar issue the other day. I do not remember the fault code but it was a fuel pressure issue. I took off fast or made a sharp turn while getting into the go pedal. The fuel was about 1/4 tank or less. My guess was a momentary lack of fuel due to it all being torqued to the back or side of the tank...

On my F350 with a chip and full 4" exhaust I was able to hang the float on the top of the tank on a 4wd fully spooled take off. All that pressure just lodged the float.

Mine did the same thing awhile back. Ran rough, pulled over and shut it off, restart and still running rough, shut it off and restart and it was fine. No codes. Been fine every since.

Your right......wierd.

I replaced a few fuel filters back to back and the loss of power problem didn't go away until I installed an inline flow thru lift pump in the engine compartment.

It took me approx. one hour labor time to install.

It is a $50.00 NAPA flow thru lift pump that I secured to the side of the battery pan with a $2.00 L bracket I got from the home depot. The battery pan has available (freed) screw holes to attach the L bracket to.

Now the problem is nonexistent and fuel delivery remains constant without any loss of power.

I'll post some pictures when I get some free time.

wow looks like I'm not the first to have this happen.
I wasn't low on fuel, I had a full tank from the day before, but I was l below a 1/4 tank when I filled up.
I am getting a filter at NAPA after work to keep on hand if needed. I don't want to change it if it's computer gremblims and not needed but surely don't mind if its going to solve the issue.
