Looking on Moparpartsamerica, it shows one internal filter for the 45rfe, and then one that is labeled external. Does anyone have the correct part numbers for the 2 filters? I am coming up on 50K and was going to change the fluid. This is on a 2006. Thanks.

Dave

Chrysler 4799507 & 4799662

For my part, I go with Baldwin (kit part number: 20000)...

hope this helps!

5013470AB $39.60 $0.00 $26.36
Maintenance & lubrication - Transmission - Automatic transmission - Filter
FILTER, Grand Cherokee, 4.7L, Internal 1999 - 2000

and for the other one got this:

Part number 4799662 was superseded by part number 5179267AB.

Item Number MSRP Core Price Price
5179267AB $18.70 $0.00 $12.43

So, I'm still not sure as they don't specifically list the 2006 liberty. If they would list it by transmission model number it would be a lot easier.

It's probably easier to search NAPA's website. I did my trans at about 50k; one is a pancake filter and the other is a spin-on. The spin on is most likely the cheaper one listed, but don't be fooled by the "external" designation. Both are in the trans and require removal of the trans pan.

Here is a link to a member's install of a Transgo kit that shows both filters: http://liberty.eurekaboy.com/transgo.htm

My Napa had them locally. Just a thought.

O'Reilly sells the Wix 58843 for $39.99 that has both the filters and gasket if you want to pick it up over the counter.

Got the MOPAR filter kit right at the dealership parts counter,$24.95 plus tax, the last time I have my trans flushed and filters changed, the 45RFe and 545RFe take the same filters.Went right from the parts counter to the service desk and handed them to the service writer, cheaper and they had to install without question since it was there own parts, saved $50 that way since I have a account with the parts department.
