Found a new product that makes engine detailing quick and easy....
I'm not a big fan of power washing my engine as I believe the pressure forces water and debris into places you just don't want them to go.
I used to use the Gunk Engine Bright spray foam until I discovered Greeze-Off by Spray Nine, this stuff just seems to work better for me.
I always start with an engine that's no hotter than warm....(You can touch it without major discomfort)....spray the whole thing down liberally with the Greeze-Off, and just let it soak into the dirt and grease for a few minutes. After that I hit it with a straight stream from my garden hose, and everything comes out clean enough to eat off of......
Of course this is assuming you keep your engine and engine bay relatively clean to begin with, excess oil, dirt and greasy build up may take some extra effort....
After it all drys, I used this product from Stoner called Vinyl & Trim treatment, it comes in a spray can, and it has an easy to control spray pattern. I covered my windshield first so no over spray coated the glass, then hit all the plastic and vinyl under the hood with this stuff, and the result looks showroom new.......
