Engine Oil?????

I would like to thank you guys while im at it. You guys have helped me out a ton for the short time iv been on here no matter what the topic. Im glad to be a part of this forum.....Now lets just hope the CRD can make it to the store to pick up some oil before its toast :ROTFL:

Absolutely! Just make sure you get the diesel rated stuff.

........But my point is im not a retard. Thats why i started the post. I have seen 100 threads about oil and i have no clue what to run now. Im a new CRD owner and i want the best for my CRD. Im going to switch to a full Synth....Im just try'n to figure out which one. My CRD didnt come with an owners manual and im just ignorant. If the 800 miles with the plain ol' Rotella 15w 40 toasts this little italian diesel then its not worth 2 craps to begin with and i will crush the dang thing at the scrap yard. no sweat.........

Im an Amsoil fan. I use the European diesel oil. 5/40. Any of the top (I like Mobil too) synthetics will do.

Don't bother draining the oil out right away. What a waste of time and money. The motor will not self-destruct from 5000 miles on that stuff, just change it to synthetic at your next change. Any name brand 5W-40 will be fine, just pick one that fits your budget. Also, how hard did you look for the manual? Lots of people miss it be cause you have to open the glove box and duck your head to see it in a special compartment behind the grab bar.
