There are widely varying reports as to the longevity of MT/R's. Recent discussions lead me to believe that there was a difference between OEM Rubicon-spec tires and the aftermarket version purchased through tire dealers. Lowered factory specs on things like tires are completely noraml, so there is a good chance that the Rubicon tires were not the same as those purchased through Goodyear, for example.

Thoughts? Stories?

I've had two sets of stock MT/R off of Rubi's and got about 32k out of each set. I just bought a set of Kevlar MT/R's.

I got about 12ish thousand miles out of mine. There was plenty of tread left, but the tires chunked so horribley I could no longer drive on them. I also had an issue with cupping, but when they were rotated the issue seemed to go away. They weren't from a Rubicon. I have heard of others that have had chunking problems in other sizes 33's, 35's, etc, and others that have had zero issues and swear by them.

The Rubicon take-offs are softer then the ones you buy from GoodYear.

I can certainly believe that. Chris is not the only person that I know with "aftermarket" MT/R's that have good wear and reliability. My OEM's are wearing significantly and are prone to cupping even with regular rotations. If I get 30K useful miles out of them I will be surprised.

Probably a moot point as the supply of OEM Rubi take-offs is probably all but dried up. I pieced together five spares that had never been on the ground for cheap, though it took almost a year to do it.
