Just got something shiny delivered.

Anyone interested in my D30a? It has 4:10 and an ARB.

I going to ask $1200, but I'd sell it to someone from IL lost for $1000.

I think I have about $1700 in it. Locker goes for $900, the gears were $250, the rebuild kit $125, the diff housing (used) was $200 and setup/assembly labor was $300.

It has Dana/Spicer 4:10's and an ARB RD100, about 40k miles on it. syn gear oil changed regularly. Oil seep at the pinion seal, but never enough to need additional gear oil between services.

Yukon 4:10, ARB RD100.

I thought about canibalizing my current diff for the parts, but the gears are different and I figured I'd have an easier time selling my current diff as-is ready to bolt in than in pieces.

Anyone know of a repair shop in teh NW suburbs that is willing to work with customer purchased parts? I need the crossover/lower cat replaced on my 2002 V6 and ran into some issues that take it past my ability to do in the driveway on jackstands.

I can't afford to break the studs on the muffler flange, but wasn't able to remove the nuts with Kroil, good tools, light impact, or heat. If a stud breaks I'd have to remove the muffler in order to knock/drill out the stub to allow use of a bolt, and time available just won't cut it (HOA issues). Also the replacement Walker cat/pipes has a heat shield on it that looks like it won't fit between the crossmember and the body; it has to in order to slide the unit into place. That means either removing the crossmember or cutting and rewelding the cat to the pipes, neither of which is driveway fodder for me.

When I get quotes from several shops around here they want $1800 to over $2100, claiming the part itself is $1600 to $1800; that may be dealer price but the Walker replacement was only $250 and outside of the heat shield and an un-needed O2 sensor bung it matches up perfectly, and I really can't afford the quotes I've been getting. But if they want to charge a little extra for labor on account of not getting part profits, that'd be acceptable.

Arlington Heights/Palatine area preferred, or not too far. Thanks for any an all recommendations.

We've taken our KJ to the Midas in Glendale Hts. They have no objections to working with customer purchased parts.

I wonder how difficult it would be to get a 2005+ trans skid to fit on an '02 with a Skid Row engine skid?

I may just bit the bullet and get one. They're not too pricey.

Finally! A nice enough Saturday to work on the Jeep! Got to prepping the rails and engine skid for a fresh coat (or 4) of paint.
I was surprised that the engine skid did not have as muck trapped in it as I thought there would be. Will be dropping the transmission skid on Monday to prep and paint it. Also, roughly measured where we may need to drill for the new transmission skid.
