Not sure where to put this but here we go

I get up early to get the Liberty worked on and find my driver's side door handle mangled up. Someone in the night had put a screwdriver into the lock and pulled the entire handle down. There's a 1/4" gap at the top and the keyhole is destroyed. The handle still works luckily but not the key.

Any idea on what I'm looking at for repairs? I've search the net a bit looking for a new handle but no luck so far.

Sheesh, some people shouldn't be alive

thanks!
Brad

I am sorry to hear that, I don't understand how people can steal or destroy other peoples property. This same thing happened to another person on this site: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... oor+handle
Evidently this is a known weakness in chrysler vehicles. If you get the handle off you can gain access to the car. Atleast they didn't steal anything out of your car.

As far as your handle is concerned, you may want to trycar-parts.com I hear they have salvage parts that you can order. I have never used them but you may want to give em a try. Sorry again about your misfortune.

EDIT* looks like Jeepster got through before me and found a better site to order from. Good luck.

great! Thanks

and $28 for the lock assembly too. Just need to see what I can do about matching my key. Guess a good locksmith could fix that.

thanks again!

Ebay is where I do most of my shopping and there is usuallly LOTS of Liberty goodies to be found there. I know I've seen them there in the past. Good luck.

I checked there and didn't see any handles, just lots of Lambo door kits for Liberty's...what are they thinking???

Looks like the handle isn't bad off, if I can push it back up to the door or if there is a backing plate that got bent. The lock will have to be replaced no matter what.

I'll take another look at it tonight and see what's going on with it.
