Well, here's a conclusion to my story. Several days ago I made the 22 mile trip to fill up my CRD on biodiesel and then performed several 0-60 WOTs in an attempt to blow out any soot built up in the system. Today, I took the Jeep to the same emissions testing facility that failed it in April and told them: "I have one of those rare diesel Liberty's and am supposed to have it re-tested........BUT........the last time I brought it in, you set-off my ABS light and I have since found out that this vehicle should not have been tested on the rollers because it screws up the traction control system. How would you like to proceed with the test?" The lady helping me said her "manager would have to handle this one." I repeated the same story to her manager and he said he would have to discuss it with his supervisor. After the three of them looked under the hood and huddled around the testing computer, the manager came to me and said "they screwed up the first time...it didn't need to be tested...I was free to go...have a nice day." He gave me what is called a "Director's Certificate," which is basically an emissions test override. Sheesh!! I'm still not exactly sure what happened, but I "passed."

My next steps are to take control over the maintenance of my CRD using the guidance I've received from this forum. I kinda feel liberated by this whole fiasco and am looking forward to getting to know my CRD a lot better.

Thank you so much to everyone that helped!!!
