Does the EHM through the CEL? The mod looks easy enough to do before the trip.

The EHM does not throw a CEL... It does have the tendency to smell, smoke, and leak oil on your driveway, though. IMHO, it's an unnecessary mod.

X2 and oil that goes through the CA system will be burnt, just like the fuel, and it requires zero maintenance, GDE pulled a CAC and ony got like a spoon of oil out of it. With 20PSI+ of charge air, the oil will not build up in the CAC. It is really just a matter of how much time you want to be under the hood tinkering. No one has ever had a CRD blow up because it did not have and EHM or a Provent. :dead: If the EHM or provent should freeze shut in the winter, from the condensation it emits, you can count on your engine seals being blown. You have a choice get rid of the EGR fumes (GDE or ORM), or get rid of the CCV oil (EHM or Provent with freeze risk), one by itself is no harm.

Just drive it and enjoy it. Nothing is needed at 50K. Oh, you might check the condition of the MAP sensor, but as I have found out, it stays clean since the indroduction of ULSD. All the other mentions are just preventatives (maybe).

Negative.

First thing. Amsoil or Roatella 5w 40 Synth Diesel oil

And EHM ASAP!!!!!

Im tell'n you. Do the EHM or elts........

Negative. I did switch to Rotella just because it is cheaper than M1. EHM is not required. By the way....the sky is falling!

While I admire their passion, many on here make CRD life far more complicated than it needs to be.

You are absolutely 100% correct!

All great stuff! Thanks! I think what I will do is check the fluids, change the oil and filter, check the air filter and fuel filter, tires, etc. take the trip home and go from there. I need to see if she will tow the boat adequately; it is pretty flat here in FL, and see if the tune will be a good idea. I just sold the Audi and can't wait to get the Jeep.
