I noticed the stickers actually have the same part number as the Bosch tag underneath, so I think you need a good scanner like Joe has. I have a real old dumb interface VAG version, I could not even get it to connect to my Jeep? I opted for the portable scan tool, that way I can keep it with me on trips. But I guess you could do the same with a lap top and Vag.

Sound like they gave you some waiting room time, still alot better then a failed GP.

Up to this point our development work has focused on improving fuel economy and drive ability. The tunes do not include any changes from what is already in the ECU. We are now starting an investigation into the glow calibration and should have our testing complete by next Wednesday. The goal here is to be able to provide a tune that includes the latest glow cal in all tune versions regardless of the ECU part number and firmware version. If successful there will be no need to have a dealer update an ECU prior to tuning, it will be included. We believe this is in the interest of any CRD owner that is experiencing glow plug issues and at least directionally correct.

On a side note, even with the latest ECU part number and firmware several customers are still facing issues with failing glow plugs. The software does help to lower glow temps, thus reducing the tendency to overheat. However, it is not a cure all for the ceramic glow plugs, which are a weak design to begin with.

Hi, any word on whether your latest ECU tunes incorporate the latest glow plug calibrations?

Hmmmm, seems I don't have any stickers on the ECU with those number, but, I do have a sticker on the hood showing a TCM flash ending in .......737AJ.

Wonder if I'm looking in the correct location.

"AJ" indicates F37 :|

The ECM is the one on the driver's side :D

CATCRD,

All our tunes have the latest glow plug calibration incorporated as of 30 October 2009. If you purchased prior to that you can send it back for an update for the cost of shipping...roughly $30-35. Thanks, GDE

SPN-87,

The part number may have rubbed off in a portion or the label was a misprint. The AE suffix suggests it was an early build for 2006. This is not a problem for tuning in either case.

I was at the CE revision before the tune. The tune removes the "lower engine torque" of the F37 flash, right? So what else other than glow plugs should we worry about? With the GDE tune, we got all the power plus some back, right?
