Well all that comes after the current project which this thread is supposed to be about! Today was a turning point! And boy did it turn!! The 385Hp, 2.8L, V6 Ford is no longer in the plans.
Nothing wrong with it, just ... plans change ...
How about the first 302?
From today on that is the end goal! I am hoping the timeline doesn't change much, but after talking to everyone, I just figured " Go Big or Stay Home !" ... "If you can't run with the Big Dogs, stay on the Porch" and all the other sayings that go with it. I have been watching CL and am ready to pounce now. I'm watching for a Bronco or F150 with 302, auto and xfer case that I can pick up cheap. After all, I live in the rust belt, and once the bodies go, people around here seem to dump them for cheap.
This weekend the plan is to pull the grill, radiator and anything else in the way. Then hopefully get the motor and trans/xfer case out and start going through and ridding the engine compartment of excess and unnecessary wiring. Hopefully by next weekend I will have the new engine combo here and I can start getting it ready to hang so I/we can figure out motor mounts, trans mounts, xmembers, cooling, radiator, exhaust ...etc., etc., etc.
