That doesn't seem that great. Must be the 75% towing.

I wonder if there is a break-in period? My UOA’s are actually getting better as the engine ages. The iron and silicon are still higher than what I would like. But overall, I think those numbers are pretty good. That was at one year and happened to be right at 10,000 miles. My next UOA will be taken at 15,000 miles. So we'll see what happens.

I push my Cummins 15K on Amsoil with no analysis. That is what the mfr. calls for even with Dino oil, and that is what I do.

Due to lots of towing, I fall under maintenance schedule B which is every 7,500 miles as recommended by Cummins.

Well, then you are right on the money. But I see you are going to push it up to 15K now? I am also surprised you run such a light weight oil? My 01 Freightliner FL50 with an ISB calls for 15w40 oil. Is 5w30 the spec for the 06 Cummins?

Being you have a Cummins, you should check out this forum as well http://forum.mopar1973man.com/index.php

Yeah, most guys are going 15,000 - 20,000 mile intervals on the Amsoil 5W30. I change my oil and filters every year and pull a sample just to see how things are looking. But after talking to a few diesel gurus, I've decided that I've been dumping good oil. So I'm going to run my oil at a 15,000 interval and resample. My Amsoil 5W30 UOA's looks better than most people's dyno 15W40 UOA's at 7,000 miles. The Amsoil 5W30 has a better additive package than the Amsoil 15W40.....

The Pusher is very nice, especially for the price. But I already have the CFM+

Cool, just checking. If your CFM melts....Give me a shout  , Just got our flow bench numbers in as well. We out flowed ATS,CFM,Banks, and BD. Our idea when we designed it was to keep it simple stupid. And out came the best flowing intake on the market at the best price. But the CFM is a good looking product.

Back to your thread haha...didnt mean to derail it. IF you need ANYTHING(parts for your truck) just pm me :SOMBRERO:

I am getting iron wear numbers in the 11-20 range in my Cummins ISX at 25,000 mile oil changes, average loads of 38,000 lb (average gross 73,000 lb), using a synthetic blend (40%) from a local oil distributor and I get it for $9 a gallon. With Amsoil, I was getting Iron numbers around 60-70 in the same OCI time frame with notices from the oil lab that wear numbers were getting into abnormal category. With Amsoil, I was getting Lead at around 40ppm or more at 25,000 miles whereas now I am getting lead at around 6 ppm.

Thats a good one too. So pretty much Amsoil is the stinky poo. Im now a dealer. I have never heard one bad thing from anyone who actually will use it. All the crap you see people talking about it have never or dont even use it. I use the full synth. 15w 40 amsoil in my Cummins. I still change it every 3 to 4k miles just becasue i used to change it every 2800 with plain ol' rotella. SO its habit and at my cost not that bad so why not. I also now run it in my CRD. It really is good stuff.

I would go with the Schaeffer's Lubricants Supreme 9000 5W40 full syn. Awesome oil! It's what I run in the libby. It would work awesome in the cummins.
