Seeing that thread on oil change rates for Cummins I thought about our engines.
So, let us mention our oil change schedules and any oil tests.
I remember an oil test thread but did not look for it since I do not test oil, maybe I should though.

I change at about 5,000miles, use 5w-40 synthetic, oil filter changed at the same time.
Air filter at about 10k miles.
Fuel filter about 20k miles sometimes sooner.

Change oil & filter per the manual @ 6,250mi, use Shell Rotella 5/40 synthetic; fuel filter about 25K miles, Air filter depends on how much time in the desert, had to change it out in short time/miles after a desert storm in Black Rock desert, other wise per the manual.

Tests? I'm not sure whether to answer, "I don't do no stinken tests" or everyday is a test on these CRDs?

Blackstone labs get the results fairly quickly if you want to know what's going on in there.

http://www.blackstone-labs.com/

PS It would be so easy to get a sample if you have a Fumoto valve.

Oil - Change every 10k (roughly every 2 months)
Air - 10-15k
Fuel Filter - 30k

I will probably drop the oil change interval down to 5k, now that I'm removing it from my daily driver status.
This has been an outstanding vehicle for me. I have done very little maintenance and had zero problems with it. The engine and transmission has been flawless with nothing replaced but the scheduled timing belt, and samco hoses. I bought a serpentine belt from the dealer and put it under the seat with the intention of replacing it, but never got around to it. Now at 150,000 miles, I am still on the original accessory belt.

I also run the Amsoil and get an analysis from Blackstone every 10,000 miles. That oil comes back fine and they tell me I could potentially run it 10,000 more miles, but I don't :)

Also, the Amsoil EO 26 filter fits on our jeeps and has added filtering capacity. It is larger with more filtering capacity, but there is enough room for it.

Rotella synthetic 5W-40, Mobil 1 M1-301 oil filter.
Change every 10-12k miles. Analysis at that interval has come back fine.

have blackstone labs kit and plan to test the current oil when its changed out
will change fuel filter at 25,000 miles
my air filter is Amsoil Absolute Efficiency Air Filter so i clean it every oil change.

How much larger is the 26 compared to the 34?

Maybe 35% larger by volume...Been a while since I had a stock size on there but do remember being impressed with the size difference of the 26..As I mentioned above, tighter fit but no clearance issues in 40K miles.

10K with Rotella. EaO026. 7 quarts. Good UOA seen in UOA post elsewhere.

There was long thread about UOA and mileage, etc. Search feature not working for me but it would add a lot to this post.

Here is the CRD UOA thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4582&hilit=Used+Oil+Analysis

I change mine at ~6000 mile intervals with Mobil 1 5W-40 TDT and either a Purolator Pure One or Wix Filter. I have at least one UOA in that thread, as well, done through Blackstone. Did a UOA on my trans fluid as well:

I am ordering parts, and since I'll need to change oil relatively soon (approaching 6k), I thought I'd order some oil and filters as well (the Fumoto F-102N drain valve is already in the cart).

Is the Amsoil stuff the best bet? I'm interested in the larger Amsoil EaO026 mentioned in this thread. I assume the bigger filter is better for the vehicle (that's how my Passat works).

Any recommendations as to what I should buy (oil and filter) are greatly appreciated! It's been since college since I changed my own oil, but I'm kind of happy to be getting back to it, especially with this vehicle. :)

I've also got an e-mail in to the previous owner to see when the fuel filter was last changed. If no response, I'll likely go ahead and do that as well.

Thanks!

I use Mobil 1 TDT 5w-40 and Mobil 1 M1-301 oil filter.
Change every 6 months or about 10K miles.
I change my air filter (napa) once a year, inspect and clean filter and airbox every couple months.
Change my fuel filter once every two years, or sooner if needed.
