Started it up, put it in gear and it felt like I was rear ended the jerk was so bad. Put it back into Park, then did Drive, and same thing. Gave it some pedal and it was lame since it was in limp. Shut it off, restarted and everything was fine. Light went off after 2 cool down cycles. This Jeep is entertaining to say the least.

No expert here, but is the Tranny Fluid Low?

Could the Torq. Converter be going bad?

Tranny fluid is at the upper line. Just a glitch I suppose, or......could be the beginning of the end. Time will tell. I have a $250 deductible Geico mechanical breakdown policy so no worries there.

Well now we'll see how good your Geico warranty is :SOMBRERO: I remember years ago you mentioned it on a thread about extended warranties.

Make sure they replace the seal that's on the front of the transmission and seals the output collar of the torque converter. As you might know the original seal is no longer available and they must replace the front pump with the new style. They took two and a half days on mine.

At 34,000 they replaced my torque converter and pump two weeks ago under my Chysler Gold warranty. They found torque converter clutch material in the transmission pan. My deductable was $100 and when they recieved the power steering rack that's back ordered they'll replace that too :jester:

Have you noticed any other symptoms lately? When they get done your jeep will have the parts it should have had from the beginning.

I hope I don't have to use it. I have used it in the past. They just give the shop a credit card number and I pay the $250. It is a bumper to bumper type warranty. Only hitch is you have to have it from the time you bought the new car. So...there is a time frame where you are covered with the factory 3/36, and are paying for the Geico at the same time....but in times like this might be worth it. I pay an extra $10 a month for it. So far so good. CEL is out, and no driveability issues.

Probably so. It's almost like it is a TCM issue. If the TC was Fubar'd, I'd think it would do it all the time instead of healing itself.
