Well about a month of having the new Liberty Someone decided to take some paint off the front bumper on the driver side. I never found out who did it. Now this morning i go out and see that someone took paint off the passenger side of the front bumper. The funny thing is i actually found the Person who did it. The wife even too pics of the van with my paint on his bumper and the plates of the van. The problem here is that i didnt see them do it so if i call the police they are going to tell me that they can not do anything cause i didnt see the person hit the car. Man thats a 300 to 500 paint job cause they actually scrapped the bumper bare. Im so tired of it. Sit and pay all this money for someone to deface it and walk away like nothing. Wish it was like the old days where either they pay for it one way or another, be it by money or blood. So tired of it.....

Is it possible to set up a web cam somewhere and maybe tape him doing it?

wouldnt be worth it. I live in a building so I dont have a steady parking space its a first come first serve in the Big Apple. The best thing i can do is just move to a better neighborhood then come back and take care of it lol. The sad thing is that with all the bumping and scratching on the truck i've lost the enthusiasm that i had when i first got it. :|

Impala, I live in Queens.. I've learned it doesn't pay to have nice things.. I love my Jeep, and I take care of it, mostly mechanically. I wish I had more time to detail it.. But it's impossible to have anything nice in this world without it being ruined, no matter where you live.
My friend had his four rims/tires from a brand new G37 stolen, while parked in the driveway on the service road of the LIE (its a major expressway in NY, Long Island).
My neighbor took off my bumper, (I share a driveway), he was nice enough to pay me for it though.
Everyday something new happens.. it's just one of those things we must deal with.

Good Luck, If you are in NYC, check out the Northeast forum.

Dealt with that when we lived inthe city with on street parking. We had wife's car 6 months, big white streak up bumper, perfectly matched neighbor, but couldn't prove it, then the new truck was keyed, etc. Just dealt with it for 3 yrs until we finally moved!

I grew up in queens. Richmond Hill area. I try to deal with it but it sucks big time when you invest so much just for people to do as they wish. the funny thing is that I even got the bumper guard for the rear cause i had this issue on the 300 I had but it was in the rear. Now they wanna tag up thre front bumper...

Sounds like you have painted bumpers. IMHO, worst idea ever. They're bumpers and should serve that purpose. Bumpers should be able to take the occasional tap/rub without showing. I've seen lots of bed linered bumpers in Chicago and I highly recommend it to all city dwellers.

Try living in a tourist resort like those along the South Jersey coast. 8 months of peace and quiet, everyone knows everyone else, and they look out for each other.....then "they" come here, and it's 4 months of pure hell. They park in your driveway, or block it, they park in front of fire hydrants and don't give a rat's arse, they side swipe, bang into your rear, back into your front...and all the while they act like we should kiss their arse because they came to our island and spent money...

We are living in a "Me first, and the hell with everyone else" generation, people have become selfish, impolite, arrogant, rude, and thoughtless of everyone around them.

Impala....you got a photo of the van, and you know the tag number......a little mid-night sidewall puncture testing would be in order if the "D"-head did that to my Liberty......

+1 He'd probably sorely miss his side mirrors if they "accidentally" got smashed or bent beyond use. I work at a college and I swear none of these people can drive. They fling their doors open and hit mine, bend my mirrors back when they walk by, place their crap on my hood while they sift through their bags, put their coffee on my bumper. I've started taking up two spots just to avoid it.

Being the bigger ( * ) makes me at least feel a little giggly :p

Why do they do something about it and use the evidence in court for something like that, but can't do anything about it if it isn't a murder, kidnapping, or rape crime?

I think his tires can be deflated w/o anyone seeing you..........

there's one solution to this...

problem - door dents - fix - rock rails with extended tubing
problem - front/rear bumpers hit - fix - steel front/ rear bumper (possible winch in front)
problem - keyed - fix - bed liner on entire jeep.

then get as much revenge as you want... because they cant do anything back  get some of their paint on YOUR bumper!
