Weird noise from front end w/video

Any thoughts on this? Just started Sunday and it's really loud and annoying!!

CV might be going out.

Ugh! I thought we had that all figured out too! I had front end shakes and bumps not too long ago and we pulled everything and checked it out but didn't see anything major. Put it all back together and it went away.

Also, it only does it while I'm on the gas and it seems to primarily be at low speeds and highway speeds.

that chirping kind of noise is usually a sign of a bad CV.

I would be worried about the fan belt and tensioner.

Mine started that same type of sound on Monday. I was backing out of my in laws garage and they heard it. Mine seems to do it when I turn the wheel and in general when I first start moving it. What all is involved in a CV rebuild/swap? :oops:

Is it time for a SFA? :frankie:

Forgot to mention that it sounds like if is at the fan shroud area. I checked the tensioner and belt, they were good....we joked about leaving a screw driver in there to my wife... :ROTFL:

although she was more like.... :evil:

and I went :banghead:

Likely a belt tensioner, could also be a water pump. This is a 3.7 petrol model yes?

Belt tensioner.Open the hood and rev it up a little and you should be able to see it jumping/vibrating.

spray the belt tensioner with wd40 and if it goes away or the pitch changes its definately bad.

Finally got a chance to check it out, couldn't get it to make the same noise when revving it but I could see it twitching at idle and it jumped a little when revved. I'll spray it down and see if I can get anything to change. I hope that's what it is though, much easier and cheaper then replacing CV's!
