Hi Everybody,

I just purchased an '08 Jeep KK Sport 4x4 at an awesome price  , I am from British Columbia Canada and if anybody is familiar with the area you'll know we have some pretty epic mountain terrain. I just thought I would register and introduce myself as I have been trolling the forums for information since I bought two weeks ago and I must say this place rocks although it would be nice if there were more Canadians kickin around.

I have already taken the beast off road and for a stock machine it handles quite well although I did almost immediately notice that a lift is going to be a necessity if I continue this trend, I was also looking at the AEM brute force intake system which I see has it's own how to in the tech section, is it worth it over the stock intake system? I do not plan on taking this thing off road all the time bit I do a fair amount of back country fishing and would like it to be suited up for such adventures, do you think it's worth replacing the stock front bumper with something aftermarket or would it be better to just install a bully bar and save some money? I am also wondering about the JET performance chips, are they really as good as it seems? :frankie:

Thanks for the info's and I look forward to getting to know some of you folks even if you are 1000's of KM away. I will post some pictures of the rig once I've had a few days off.

Hey KK_Canuck_Guy,

Thanks alot!

I am from the Okanagan Valley, Kelowna to be specific so just outa curiousity since you're from BC how much trouble have you had locating resonably priced aftermarket parts for your KK? I've been looking around and it seems like everything is retardedly expensive up here or you order it from the US and then pay once it hits the border, any luck finding any local manufacturers?

Hey Brad,

Yeah stuff up here is ridiculously expensive, I found that out quick so I haven't put on any aftermarket stuff besides a set of A/T tires and interior speakers. Make sure you change those stock tires out quick, they are junk. I would imagine the only other options would be to look at junkyards etc for parts?

Dunno if you have a "CapIt" store out there in Kelowna but they seem to carry some aftermarket parts as well and they do install lifts, bumpers etc for you. They carry the budget lifts like Daystar etc.
Another option if you're looking into lifts would be to talk to local garages or other 4x4 workshops. They can usually order the lift you want and then install it for you.

Sorry I don't have any more info regarding bumpers, air intakes etc but I know a few guys on here who have installed those things, i'm sure they could give you recommendations..

Thats alright Ian, thanks though :) I have come to realise this little 'jeep' hobby is going to be about as expensive if not more than my obsession with fly fishing haha - the wife is not very impressed at my expensive choice in hobbies haha. I don't think we have a CapIt store anywhere around here but on my next trip down to the LML I will have to check it out, I'm not really interested in a budget lift, I want long term functionality over appearance. I saw the 2010 Liberty North edition today with their 'nudge bar'....mounted right to the fiberglass bumper haha not very impressed with that but I am sure somebody will make something that is functional yet not extremely expensive at some point.

I made a little video of some trail / puddle running a buddy and I did today while trying to find a nice hidden lake up here in the Okanagan, 5 hrs of drivin the trails and we still haven't found the lake - ah well fun was had :D
