anybody know what ply they are

ie sidewalls , i am looking at the 255/70R16 to put on my lifted 04

what has your experience been with wet weather traction, Noise , tread wear,

you see i have a set of D694's (revos) and at 40,000 Kms (25000) miles they are just about needing replacement ( my tyre guy reckons i will get about 10,000 km's more (6000 miles) and i like the idea of a 60,000 mile warranty (90,000 km's)

Mine are 2 ply sidewall/5 ply tread. They weigh 42.5 lbs. each (compared to 25 lbs. each for the stock tires). They are as loud as a MT tire below 35 miles per hour. Faster than 35 they quiet down. In rain they are awesome. Dry traction is awesome. Snow I don't have much experience yet...only little snow storms...but they did great. Off road they are awesome until you hit mud..then they suck unless you spin the tires very fast to keep them clean. Overall you absolutely can not beat them for the price. BFG $150....General Grabber $86...hmmm...let me see... That's a no-brainer. OH...and they are wearing great so far. I only have a few thousand miles on mine but so far they are doing great.

You might get rubbing with just a 2inch lift. I am trying to figure out if i will have rubbing with 245/70's VS. 245/75's and a 2inch lift.

Anyone?

Note that Sears carries this tire, under the name General All Terrian LT

"Snowflake on Mountain" Rated :D

They are on sale right now, very reasonable

235/85 = $81
245/75 = $95

Mounting/Balancing is $14 a tire

I can get 5 in 235/85 out the door for 500 bucks, which is what I will be doing after the daystar is installed tomorrow (the rear is already done!) :)

Thats cool. Did they change the name of them? or is that just what they call the "Light truck" series of this tire - hense the "LT"?

anywase make sure you get some pictures of the new tires on the jeep for us!
