I am a new member from the Tampa Bay area. Currently I do not own a KJ but at my wife drove a 05 4X4 CRD for a few years. It was her daily driver and we never took it off road. When our family grew in size she had to trade it in on a larger vehicle.

My family and I do a bit off roading in a midsized SUV. The five of us are a bit cramped in it and I am thinking of adding another 4X4 to the family fleet soon. Since my wife like her CRD so the KJs are on the short list. Are there any KJ owners in central Florida that take their Liberty off road? If so I would like to hook up and see what wheeling a KJ is about.

I'm all the way over in Saint Augustine. We don't have many members here in Florida.

I found the Down Right Lost Florida section last night. There was not that much activity on it. I guess I should post there and see if I can stir up some interest forming some sort of a ride.

So you are from St. Augustine……What trail systems are close to you? Ocala? Osceola?

Yes on both counts. Usually Ocala though. Osceola has a LOT of water.

I spent a weekend a few years back in Osceola We only rode one area of the forest so I do not know much about the place. It was not a bad place to ride but I never went back. Ocala is more fun to me and less of a drive.

Have you ever explored Apalachicola National Forest? It is on my list but I have never had a chance to go there.

I have been there but didn't get to see much. I was in Tate's Hell.

It will be towards the beginning of next year before I will be buying anything. Also I would like to spend some time on the trail with a modified KJ to see what it can or can’t do. Wheeling in an IFS vehicle or modifying one is somewhat new to me. Before I buy one I need to know if I’ll be happy with it.

If I still had my lift and wheeled my KJ I'd let ya ride shotgun with me, but the KJs wheeling days are over.
Terry may let you ride with him though. You'd have to ask him.
And his KJ is WAYYYYYY more modified than mine ever was. :D

If I buy a KJ it will be for my wife. Before we added a fifth member to the family she and I had our own daily drivers and trail toys. Between the costs of having another child, inflation ($3.00++ gal for gas etc), the economy down turn etc. We dropped down to a mini van and one midsized duel purpose vehicle for me to drive.

I sold my wrangler because five people did not fit in it. The vehicle we have now holds five but it is cramped in the back seat and my wife likes to drive her own rig. Also my oldest daughter is a couple of months away from getting her learners permit to drive so we are about a year way from her wanting a vehicle. What ever I buy she will end up driving……….If her behavior and grades are good.

I would like to hook up and do some trail riding Terry. This weekend we have a little ride at a semi-local spot so it will be some time towards the middle to end of next month before I can ride again. How about a Ocala ride sometime soon?

:ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: Just remember, retirement isn't based on age. I retired at 52.

Ocala would be good. There are a LOT of trails out there! We can figure out something when the time gets a little closer.
